Chasing a record 5th title, can Leinster outmanoeuvre Ulster to reach the Heineken Champions Cup semi-finals, at 5.45pm on BT Sport 3 this Saturday? With a 16 point gap between the 2 sides in the Pro14’s Conference B, Saturday evening’s fixture maybe, sort of, feels like a foregone conclusion. The last time they met Leinster battered their opponents 40-7, and will be looking to do the same this weekend, with Spreadex offering a Leinster/Ulster Points Supremacy spread of 14-17.
The defending champions are also favourites for the competition as a whole; while they share an Outright Index spread of 34-37 with Saracens, the Irish club sit at a superior fixed odds price of 7/4 to their English rival’s 9/4. If Leinster are victorious, it could well set up a replay of last year’s final in this season’s semis, as 2017/18 runners-up Racing 92 face Toulouse at 3.15pm on BT Sport 3 this Sunday. Interestingly, though Racing are well off the pace in the Top 14, trailing their weekend opponents by 16 points, they are still fancied to progress, if only just, with Spreadex offering a Racing 92/Toulouse Points Supremacy spread of 3-6. On the other side of the draw, Saturday sees Saracens resume their campaign with a visit from the Glasgow Warriors, at 3.15pm on BT Sport 3. The best-ranked team following the group stages, Saracens will fancy their chances, even if the Warriors are top of the Pro14’s Conference A, with Spreadex offering a Saracens/Glasgow Points Supremacy spread of 14-17. Finally the quarter-finals actually begin at 12.45pm on Channel 4, as Edinburgh take on Munster. The Scots aren’t have the best season over in the Pro 14, while the Irish side are only a few points behind Glasgow, a situation that contributes to the Munster/Edinburgh (h) Points Supremacy spread of 3-6.
