Can Huddersfield cement their promotion-push with a victory over Wigan, at 7.45pm on Sky Sports 1? In the 12 and a bit months since taking charge, David Wagner seems to have inspired a pretty dramatic change in Huddersfield’s fortunes season-on-season; after finishing in 19th place at the end of 2015/16, they could well leap to 4th by the end of Monday evening. They are, however, in a bit of a sticky patch at the moment. After winning 8 of their first 11 games, the Terriers have now lost 4 of their last 6, including a 5-0 capitulation against Fulham. Despite their current position, the Terriers may also feel a bit disappointed in their goal tally this season. After scoring 17 goals in 2016/17, Nahki Wells, who heads into Monday’s game at a Super Mega PGM of 24-29, has only managed to find the back of the net 3 times so far. Better has been loanee Elias Kachunga, whose 5 Championship goals leave him at a spread of 22-27. Wigan, meanwhile, have struggled since returning to the Championship and, sitting in 23rd place, find themselves in danger of returning to League One once the season is over. Gary Caldwell, the man who led the Latics to the League One title was fired at the end of October after picking up just 11 points from their first 13 games. Interestingly, a manger-less Wigan then went on to beat Cardiff City away, only to return to losing form when Warren Joyce took over at the start of November with a defeat at home to Reading. A decent margin of victory over Huddersfield on Monday, however, would potentially lift Wigan out of the relegation zone. One positive for Wigan has been Will Grigg who, if not quite on fire, than has least started to ignite; with 5 goals this season the Northern Irishman sits at a Super Mega PGM of 15-19. Beyond the terrace favourite the Latics are admittedly lacking in options up front, with Adam Le Fondre at 8-11 and Jordi Gomez and Nick Powell both at 6-9. With both sides winless in November it looks like the hosts will end the month on a high, Spreadex offering a Huddersfield/Wigan Goal Supremacy spread of 0.55-0.75 alongside a Total Goals spread of 2.2-2.4.
