Can Man City reclaim the Premier League top spot with a win at a frustrated Tottenham, at 8pm on Sky Sports? A few duff points aside, Pep Guardiola’s third season at the Etihad is looking like it’s going to be a beaut. Domestically they’ve got 7 wins and 2 draws in the league, scoring a hefty 26 goals while conceding a positively miserly 3, alongside an easy breezy 3-0 victory over Oxford United in the Carabao Cup. And though they may have stumbled out of the gate in the Champions League with a loss to Lyon, increasingly confident wins over Hoffenheim and Shakhtar Donetsk have put them back in control of Group F. While Sergio Aguero has, typically, been the club’s shining star going forwards, with 9 goals in all competitions, the club has a smorgasbord of attacking options. The Argentine is at a Super Mega PGM of 52-60, with Gabriel Jesus at 37-43, Raheem Sterling at 24-29, and both Lerory Sane and Riyad Mahrez at 19-23 apiece. In the league there hasn’t been a huge amount of difference between City and Spurs. The latter’s 2 losses – against Liverpool and Watford – leave them just 2 points adrift from the defending champions, if far less prolific when doing so. No, it is in Europe where most of Tottenham’s disappointments lie. In an admittedly difficult group, Spurs have picked up a solitary point in 3 games, with a last minute defeat to Inter Milan and a Wembley trouncing by Barcelona followed by a 2-2 draw at PSV Eindhoven. Harry Kane, at least, seems to have overcome any initial weariness. He has 7 goals in 12 games across the Premier League and Champions League, and sits at a Super Mega PGM of 31-37, well ahead of Fernando Llorente and Son Heung-Min at 13-17. Monday’s visitors aren’t in the best place following last week’s European flop. Combine that with the host’s high-flying ways, and Spreadex are offering a Man City/Tottenham (h) Goal Supremacy spread of 0.8-1 alongside a Total Goals spread of 3-3.2.
