Will Liverpool keep up their winning ways when they travel to Leicester this Saturday, at 12.30pm on Sky Sports? The Reds have looked might dangerous so far this season, even if they have waned a bit since an explosive open. A 4-0 romp against West Ham was followed by a 2-0 win at Crystal Palace and, last Saturday, a 1-0 victory over Brighton. Mo Salah and Sadio Mane have both been sharp, while Alisson has overseen a flawless beginning to his Anfield career, the goalkeeper keeping 3 clean sheets on the trot. To be fair to Leicester, they haven’t looked too bad either. A tight 2-1 loss to Man United was followed by 2-0 and 2-1 victories over Wolves and Southampton, while Thursday saw them breeze past Fleetwood – as, admittedly, is to be expected – with a 4-0 win in the EFL Cup. Yet this likely won’t be enough on Saturday, with Spreadex offering an ominous Liverpool/Leicester (h) Goal Supremacy spread of 1.3-1.5 alongside a Total Goals spread of 2.9-3.1. After avoiding an upset last weekend, will Man City punish a troubled Newcastle at 5.30pm on BT Sport 1? City had gotten off to a blinding start, a 2-0 win away to Arsenal followed up with a 6-1 humiliation of Huddersfield. And then they almost tripped up at Wolves, the Championship champs briefly leading 1-0, only for Aymeric Laporte to equalise with 20 minutes to go. As for the Toon, they’ve had a miserable time of it in August. Losses to both Tottenham and Chelsea were still disappointed, if no doubt expected, while a 0-0 draw to the recently promoted Cardiff will have done nothing for the side’s confidence. The month’s nadir, however, came on Thursday, as the club exited the 2nd round of the EFL Cup against Nottingham Forest for the 2nd consecutive season. That leaves them in an unenviable position heading into the weekend, with Spreadex offering a Man City/Newcastle Goal Supremacy spread of 2.55-2.75 alongside a Total Goals spread of 3.45-3.65. Turning to Sunday and Unai Emery is aiming for his second Premier League victory when Arsenal visit Cardiff at 1.30pm on Sky Sports. Needless to say the Spaniard hasn’t had a dream start to his tenure in North London, with defeats to title contenders Man City and Liverpool. Things got tentatively back on track last Saturday with a 3-1 win over West Ham, though even then it was unconvincing. In contrast, Cardiff can maybe, sort of feel quite happy with how they’ve dealt with their top flight return. A 2-0 loss to Bournemouth was followed by a pair of goalless draws against Newcastle and Huddersfield; so, not exactly great stuff, but a potentially important 2 points on the board nevertheless. This weekend is arguably the club’s first real test, however, and it might not go well, with Spreadex offering an Arsenal/Cardiff (h) Goal Supremacy spread of 1-1.2 alongside a Total Goals spread of 2.75-2.95. Finally Watford and Tottenham, both yet to drop a point, meet at 4pm on Sky Sports. Though they’ve only faced the likes of Brighton, Burnley and Crystal Palace, you can’t take away from the Hornets consistency so far this season. They also beat Reading 2-0 in the EFL Cup on Thursday, setting up a 3rd round fixture against, incidentally, Spurs. Tottenham, meanwhile, have impressed, no caveats need. A 2-1 victory over Newcastle and a 3-1 win against Fulham were par for the course; last Monday’s 3-0 trouncing of Man United, at Old Trafford, certainly wasn’t. That should set them up nicely for Sunday, with Spreadex offering a Tottenham/Watford (h) Goal Supremacy spread of 0.85-1.05 alongside a Total Goals spread of 2.85-3.05.
