Andrew found Cheltenham winner PEAKY BOY on New Year’s Day and has two recommended bets/trades on Tuesday, January 2nd.

FAKENHAM 12.30

Alex Chadwick won this 3m5f amateur jockeys’ handicap chase on Goodnight Charlie two years ago and he might be able to get a tune out of Lucy Wadham’s ÉCLAIR DE GUYE. The ten-year-old’s trainer has a good record at this venue and this honest plodder, runner-up over 3m6f on heavy ground at Catterick on his third start last term, should be fighting fit after a couple of previous outings this season. Buy in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market or take a fixed odds price.

Recommendation: Back ÉCLAIR DE GUYE in Fakenham 12.30

AYR 2.15

Irish trainer Stuart Crawford has a poor record when running a handicap chaser in Britain, scoring with just six of his 105 runners since 2016 for a loss of £83.30 to a £1 level stake at SP (expected winners = 15.31, A/E = 0.39). BALLYCOOSE, who carries the Simon Munir & Isaac Souede colours, will be popular for this 2m4.5f novices’ handicap chase after his runner-up effort over hurdles here last time but he faces a tough rival in the shape of Aubis Walk and looks worth opposing on his chase debut. Sell in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market.

Recommendation: Oppose BALLYCOOSE in Ayr 2.15

Please note that the picks recommended in this blog post are based on past performance and should not be considered a guarantee for future winning outcomes, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit. The views within this preview are those of Andrew Mount, professional tipster and journalist, and not those of Spreadex.
