Andrew Mount's Racing Tips

There’s a good card at Sandown on Friday (July 7th) where Andrew has three recommended bets/trades.

SANDOWN 1.55

KORKER has failed to score from five runs this season, but he finished second on two occasions and has yet to encounter his preferred small field. When racing in fields of nine or fewer runners his record reads 211152 (3-6), improving to 1112 (3-4) outside of his seasonal debuts. He faces just five rivals today and is well drawn in stall 2. Buy in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market or take a fixed odds price.

Andrew Mount's Recommendation: Back KORKER in Sandown 1.55

SANDOWN 4.15

SAGA finished a creditable fifth of 16 in the Listed Wolferton Stakes at Royal Ascot last time, but it’s been a long time between drinks for John & Thady Gosden’s four-year-old and he looks worth taking on, despite the presence of Ryan Moore in the saddle. He’s won just an Ascot novice contest at odds of 2-5 from his 11 starts and heads the betting at around the 6-4 mark for this five-runner Listed contest. Rather than sell him in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market I’m going to side with CERTAIN LAD, who will appreciate the small field. His record in Britain/Ireland in fields of 11 or fewer runners stands at 1134356142121233 (5-16) for a profit of £9.63 to a £1 level stake at SP. He was badly hampered when only 13th of 16 in the Wolferton and should be able to negotiate a clear passage this time. Buy in the 50-25-10 market or take a fixed odds price.

Andrew Mount's Recommendation: Back CERTAIN LAD in Sandown 4.15

SANDOWN 5.25

Two years ago, Bernard Llewellyn sent out Celtic Force to finish a solid 50-1 fourth in this 1m handicap for female amateur riders and his SIR PLATO is also taken to out-run huge odds. He hasn’t shown a huge amount in three runs for his current yard but there was a glimmer of promise in his latest fifth at Chepstow where he failed to see out the 1m2f trip. Sir Plato’s trainer has shown a profit in amateur rider contests (Flat and jumps) in the past 15 seasons and the likely strong gallop could see him sneak into the frame under a patient ride. Buy in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market or back him each-way in the fixed odds betting.

Andrew Mount's Recommendation: Back SIR PLATO in Sandown 5.25
