Andrew Mount's Racing Tips

Andrew heads to Chester (the first day of the May Festival) and Kempton for his two recommended bets/trades on Wednesday, May 10th.

CHESTER 1.30 – DOUBLE NUMBER OF WINNER

The Lily Agnes Conditions Stakes kicks off the Chester May Festival and in recent years, fillies have made the most of their valuable weight allowance, scoring in eight of the last 11 renewals. The pick of them could be the well-drawn Middleham Park-owned runners ZIGGY’S DREAM (stall 6) and ZIGGY’S PHOENIX (stall 1), who both displayed bags of early speed when winning on their latest starts. The pair have racecard numbers of 10 and 11 and the best way to keep both on side is to buy DOUBLE NUMBER OF WINNER with Spreadex.

Andrew Mount's Recommendation: Buy DOUBLE NUMBER OF WINNER in Chester 1.30

KEMPTON 7.00

TROIS VALLEES went into the notebook after an eye-catching run at Dunstall Park in October, her final start for trainer James Tate. Travelling well off the home turn, she made stealthy progress and looked set to take a hand in the finish before finding her path blocked and losing all momentum, fading to finish in sixth place, four lengths behind the winner. She’s changed yards since that run (now with Charlie Fellowes) and had a pipe-opener for new connections when a respectable fourth of five to Bang On The Bell over an inadequate 5f trip on soft ground at Yarmouth. She should strip fitter this time and, given the fine strike-rate of New Bay progeny at Kempton (19.2%), she’s likely to take a big step forward today. Buy in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market or take a price in the fixed odds betting.

Andrew Mount's Recommendation: Back TROIS VALLEES in Kempton 7.00
