Andrew heads to Newbury (Flat) and Tramore (Jumps) for his two recommended bets/trades on Friday, August 18th. Follow his tips this week and all year round on the Spreadex blog.

NEWBURY JOCKEYS

OISIN MURPHY has a good book of rides at Newbury today and can be bought in the Spreadex NEWBURY JOCKEYS market. EXTRAORDINAIRE, a newcomer from the Brian Meehan yard, can get the ball rolling in the 2.05. Murphy has a solid record when riding for Brian Meehan, scoring on 13 of his 78 mounts (16.7% strike-rate) for a profit of £33.60 to a £1 level stake at SP. Only 15 of those were newcomers are three of them won for a profit of £22.50. THYER (2.40) finished a promising third to Warm Spell here on his debut last month, doing best of those to come from off the pace, and should know more this time. COUNT PALATINE bombed out at Glorious Goodwood but failed to handle the deep ground and can bounce back in the 3.15. MIAHARRIS (3.45) impressed at Sandown on her debut and should run another sound race, while HALLA DUBAI will appreciate the cut back to 7f after racing with the choke out when fourth over 1m at Goodwood back in June.

Andrew Mount's Recommendation: Buy OISIN MURPHY in Newbury Jockeys

TRAMORE 4.25

THE BANGER DOYLE is a tricky customer who looks far from certain to appreciate the return to fences at Tramore this afternoon. He survived some moderate jumping to score over the larger obstacles at Tipperary in April but could only finish fourth on his next two chase outings (17-2 and 5-2f) before returned to the Flat. His full chase record reads UF144 (1-5) and he rates a sell in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market.

Andrew Mount's Recommendation: Oppose THE BANGER DOYLE in Tramore 4.25

Please note that the picks recommended in this blog post are based on past performance and should not be considered a guarantee for future winning outcomes, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit.
