Andrew starts the new week with two recommended bets/trades at Plumpton and Wolverhampton on Monday, December 18th.

PLUMPTON 1.10

Since training in her own name, Jane Williams has a 15 from 79 record in December (19% strike-rate) for a profit of £15.02 to a £1 level stake at SP. PEPE LE MOKO, a comfortable winner at Warwick on his seasonal/chase debut, looks most progressive and could well defy a 10lb rise. The yard’s chasers tend to learn their craft on the job and improve with experience, so the fact that Pepe Le Moko won in a big field on his chase debut looks highly significant. Buy in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market or take a fixed odds price.

Recommendation: Back PEPE LE MOKO in Plumpton 1.10

WOLVERHAMPTON 8.00

It has been very difficult to win a handicap on the round course at Southwell (distances of 6f+) from a low draw of late, with stalls 1, 2 3 and 4 failing to register a win in 88 attempts since November 1st (expected winners = 7.41). David O’Meara’s ADVANTAGE did well to finish a 9-1 third of 12 from stall 2 when making his handicap debut in a 1m Class 6 contest at the Nottinghamshire venue on December 7th and can be given another chance. The three-year-old showed ability in sprint novice/maidens, handling Wolverhampton well when fifth over the minimum trip in October, and the first-time cheekpieces could bring about improvement. His trainer is nine from 47 when using this headgear in an all-weather handicap for a profit of £37.42 to a £1 level stake at SP. Buy in the Spreadex 50-30-20-10 market or take a fixed odds price.

Recommendation: Back ADVANTAGE in Wolverhampton 8.00
