Monsieur Kodi, who won that race after also getting on the ‘golden highway’, was beaten at relatively short odds next time (7-2), as was third-placed Barney’s Boy (9^th, 11-2) who was also on the right part of the track. He went into that Thirsk run on the back of wins at Newcastle/Southwell but he’s won just once from 14 starts on turf and could prove vulnerable again. Sell in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market. Fixed odds punters might want to side with last year’s winner OSO RAPIDO, who returned to form with a good 33-1 fifth of 16 at York last week.

His sole turf success came on his second career start when 2-1 favourite for a 6f Hamilton maiden back in June 2020 and his full record in turf handicaps stands at 38233833056040659U7035 (0-22), suggesting he could prove vulnerable yet again.
