Wincanton is a track that typically favours early pace but there’s so much of it in this 1m7f handicap hurdler that it’s hard to escape the conclusion that the race will be set up for a closer. KINGSTON SUNFLOWER, STORMIN CROSSGALES, NO NO TONIC and PLANET LEGEND are all likely to be vying for the early lead and that’s before we’ve discussed the likes of part-time pacesetters HICONIC, INCA DE LAFAYETTE, RATHMACKNEE and JOHN BETJEMAN.

There are only two likely hold-up horses in the ten-runner line-up – MAMOON STAR and KITESURFER, though the last-named has only had two runs, so it’s too early to label him with a particular run style.
