Andrew heads to Cheltenham’s opening fixture for his two recommended bets/trades on Friday, October 27th.
Charlie Longsdon has his string in good form and his last five runners have recorded form figures of 11212 (3-5), with the defeats by two lengths and a head at 12-1 and 6-2 respectively. EVERYONESGAME is a big price for the 2m4f Trustrader Novices’ Hurdles but could go well now freshened up by a by a three month break since disappointing on soft ground at Market Rasen. The six-year-old won twice on good ground before that effort and the yard’s last runner in this race finished (Treacle Tart in 2017) second at 12-1, going down by just a length and a half to the even-money favourite. Buy in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market or take a fixed odds price.
ENTHUSED steps up markedly in class after landing a handicap hurdle at Huntingdon last time but the James Owen-trained six-year-old doesn’t look out of place in this contest, especially when judged on his speed figures. Proform awarded him the best last-time out figure for that comfortable Huntingdon success and his record in 2m-2m3.5f hurdles on good or faster going, since the cheekpieces were fitted, stands at 23122211911 (5-11), with the ninth place excusable as they went a crawl, and his patient style was at a big disadvantage (the ground was also reportedly slower than the official verdict). Buy in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market or take a fixed odds price.
Recommendation: Back ENTHUSED in Cheltenham 3.55
