Andrew found 5-1 Pontefract winner BALTIC on Thursday and has two recommended bets/trades at HQ on Friday, September 29th.

NEWMARKET 1.50

There are two horses I want to support in this 1m Listed contest and, as they are numbers 1 and 4 on the racecard, a sell of DOUBLE NUMBER OF WINNER with Spreadex is the recommendation. First up is ASTRAL BEAU, who was last seen running a highly-creditable 28-1 fourth to Nashwa in the Group 1 Falmouth Stakes on the July Course. She’ll appreciate the drop in grade – her last five runs below Group level have returned form figures of 11211 (4-5) – and she looks set to go well, especially if the ground eases. CRYSTAL CAPRICE has only ever won when favourite and is trading at around 20-1 but she was third in this race 12 months ago and her best efforts have come in the autumn. She disappointed at Royal Ascot when we last saw her but failed to settle and raced closer to the early pace than ideal in a race run to suit the closers.

Recommendation: Sell DOUBLE NUMBER OF WINNER in Newmarket 1.50

NEWMARKET 4.45

The Charlie Appleby-trained BROADWAY ACT, runner-up in his first two starts, heads the betting for this 7f confined maiden but could be worth taking on. The Too Darn Hot colt has the worst of the draw in stall 9 of 9 (the stalls have been moved to the far side today) and his sire’s progeny prefer soft or heavy going. Backing Too Darn Hot offspring on good or faster going (according to race times, not the official going) would have found just ten winners from 63 bets for a loss of £34.28 to a £1 level stake at SP (-54.4% on turnover). Broadway Act was 4-11 favourite when beaten on the July Course last time and can be sold in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market.

Recommendation: Oppose BROADWAY ACT in Newmarket 4.45

Please note that the picks recommended in this blog post are based on past performance and should not be considered a guarantee for future winning outcomes, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit. The views within this preview are those of Andrew Mount, professional tipster and journalist, and not those of Spreadex.
