The nine-year-old finished a creditable 14-1 fifth of 18 behind Kity’s Light in the Scottish National in his only subsequent outing, taking his non-Musselburgh record to 01PPF6PP53P5 (1-12). That stable debut success came on the back of a 267-day absence, and he can make a winning reappearance despite today’s extended 2m7.5f trip being on the short side. Buy in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market. Main danger METHOFTOTHEMADNESS has undergone wind surgery since disappointing Perth run back in the spring and could be worth a saver.

TAUNTON 3.45

The 2m Class 5 handicap hurdle won by Asian Spice at Exeter on November 10^th is working out exceptionally well – the winner and runner-up (Danton) returned to Exeter to land their respective races last Sunday, fourth-placed Little Pi was backed from 8-1 into 100-30 when scoring at Ludlow on Monday where the Exeter seventh, Only Fools, was also successful at 5-1. Loudspeaker, beaten by more than 33 lengths into eighth place, won over fences at Doncaster next time at odds of 17-2, while the sixth and tenth ran second/third at 18-1 and 28-1 in the same race at Wincanton next time. The form could be further boosted by the third, Imperial Measure, who runs in the 3.10 at Taunton today. PRINCE RHINEGOLD, sent off at 50-1, was beaten by a long way when 11^th of 16 in that Exeter race but the ground was softer than ideal and, given how that form is working out, he’s worth backing each-way with Spreadex in the fixed odds betting or buying in the 50-25-10 market.
