Andrew heads to an intriguing jumps meeting at Exeter for his two recommended bets/trades on Wednesday, January 31st.

EXETER 1.40

ROYAL JEWEL has been in good form here of late, making all in a 15-runner maiden hurdle over the extended 2m trip in mid-December before his runner-up effort to Storming Nelson over the same distance when failing to settle in the early stages. I respect the claims of Emma Lavelle’s handicap debutant MUSKOKA but it’s hard to see the five-year-old, trained by the bang in-form Hobbs & White yard, not finish in the first couple. Buy at 21 in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market.

Recommendation: Back ROYAL JEWEL in Exeter 1.40

EXETER 4.15

Richard Mitford-Slade runners usually need two or three outings before reaching peak fitness and LAZY SUNDAY, who landed this 2m3f handicap chase on his fourth start last term, can repeat the trick. The ten-year-old’s record from late January until the end of March stands at 244111 (3-6), with the wins at 11-2, 3-1 and 9-4. Buy at 9 in the Spreadex 50-30-20-10 market or take a fixed odds price (9-1 at the time of writing).

Recommendation: Back LAZY SUNDAY in Exeter 4.15
