Two major sporting events collide this week as Wimbledon and EURO 2024 knockout rounds make for a busy week of online betting action. We have previewed both events in our weekly betting blog as well as a quick rundown of our general election betting odds.

The below prices are indicative and may be subject to fluctuation

FOOTBALL – EURO 2024

As we enter the business end of EURO 2024, it has generally been a tournament where unders backers have been in clover with those placing goals-related sell bets on England’s four matches coming away in profit so far.

Despite being underwhelming, the Three Lions remain the favourite thanks to a draw bias that would make Chester Racecourse blush with Southgate’s side 17/5 favourites, though there is not much between them, Spain, France, and Germany.

England are 6/5 to win inside 90 minutes on Saturday against Switzerland, though after being ran so close by Slovakia, the alpine nation will not be without their backers at the weekend and you can back them to make the semis at 7/5.

One tournament talking point has been the number of own goals so far, with nine scored after Jan Vertonghen put through his own net last night. It has been good news for buyers on that football spread betting market with the spread at 5.1-5.6 before the tournament began. You can check out all of our tournament special spreads as well as our match odds below.

TENNIS – WIMBLEDON

Slightly overshadowed by the Euros, tennis spread betting punters will be relishing the return of Wimbledon with Andy Murray making his final appearance on the lush grass of SW19.

The Scot is in first round action this afternoon but is an outsider against Tomas Mahac with the former champion 5/2 to get past his Czech opponent. Italian star Jannik Sinner is a narrow favourite in the outright betting at 11/5 whilst the Spanish sensation is a fraction behind at 9/4.

On the women’s side of the draw there are three runners with a real chance of success. Iga Swiatek leads the tennis betting at 3/1 followed by Coco Gauff at 15/4 and Elena Rybakina at 9/2 with the latter the only one of the trio to have triumphed at Wimbledon in the past.

After reaching a new career-high ranking of 28, Jack Draper at 22/1 is Britain’s best hope of a winner according to our Wimbledon odds, whilst the women are led by Leicestershire’s Katie Boulter who is 40/1 to secure a famous victory.

POLITICS – GENERAL ELECTION

Britain and Northern Ireland will go to the polls on Thursday with Keir Starmer looking all but certain to sweep into power. The Labour party are 1/250 to win the most seats and 1/1000 to secure an overall majority.

With betting for the main event looking slightly uninspiring, we have markets on key seat constituencies with Liz Truss staring done the barrel of a ‘Portillo Moment’. The former PM is 21/20 to retain her seat with Labour’s Terry Jermy 8/11 to be the first non-Tory elected in the seat since Albert Hilton’s 1959 by-election success.

For spread betting punters we have seat spreads for all the major parties, with the Reform spread (currently 5.25-6.75) certainly attracting a lot of attention. Also drawing eyes has been the campaign of Lib Dem leader Ed Davey and his party look set for a massive improvement on their 2019 performance. You can buy or sell Lib Dem seats at 56-58.
