CRICKET – ENGLAND v SRI LANKA 3RD TEST

England have secured a series win against Sri Lanka and they are 1/4 to go on and claim a whitewash win before their limited overs series with Australia. The hosts have been impressive with bat and ball over the previous two games, though there are some areas of the game which need improving, not least the use of the review system.

Sri Lanka have won plaudits for sticking in games and trying to make life difficult for their hosts, but in reality the tourists are a couple of levels below England and odds on a shock win for them are 13/2. Early weather forecasts indicate that there may well be rain around London this week and that may be Sri Lanka’s best hope of avoiding the whitewash with the draw priced at 6/1.

For cricket spread betting punters we will have a full range of markets from Player Performance, individual run spreads and Bowler Performance as Gus Atkinson looks to continue his fine summer.

FOOTBALL – NATIONS LEAGUE

With the Premier League and Championship taking a break this week, attention turns to the international game with the Nations League getting underway. Following their relegation from the top tier, England begin their campaign under new gaffer Lee Carsley with a trip to Dublin on Saturday, with the visitors 1/2. Ireland can be backed at 6/1 to get a famous win whilst the draw is 3/1.

The other home nations are all in action with Scotland 11/8 to mark their Nations League A debut with a win over Poland after both sides endured disappointing Euro 24 campaigns. With four Leeds players in their squad, Wales are 7/4 to beat Turkey on Friday with the two sides playing out a 1-1 draw in Cardiff last November.

Finally we round off with Northern Ireland who have won three of their last five games and are even money to extend their impressive recent record against visitors Luxembourg on Thursday.

Away from the Nations League, there is EFL Trophy action this midweek before lower league matches take centre stage over the weekend and we will offer all of your favourite football spread betting markets throughout the week.

TENNIS – US OPEN

Shock defeats for Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic have blown the Men’s US Open betting wide open with Jannik Sinner now the 13/10 favourite ahead of his quarter final with Daniil Medvedev. There remains British interest in the competition with Jack Draper in last-eight action tomorrow against Aussie Alex De Minaur. The 22-year-old has won all four of his matches in New York in straight sets, though he is a narrow 11/10 outsider to make it to the last four with outright odds of 14/1. Alexander Zverev is 7/2 to secure glory at Flushing Meadows whilst Medvedev is 4/1 to follow up is 2021 success.

On the women’s side of the draw, home hopes are being carried by Jessica Pegula who is 9/1 to lift the trophy, but she faces a quarter final against world number one Iga Swiatek.  The Pole is 2/1 to land another US Open title and in our tennis spread betting supremacy market is priced as a 8-11 favourite to beat Pegula (ten points awarded for winning the match, five points awarded for each set won by. A 2-0 win for Swiatek would settle at 20, whilst a 2-1 win for Pegula would see the market settle at -15).
