FOOTBALL - 2023/24 PREMIER LEAGUE kick-off!

The waiting is almost over for fans of the Premier League as the new season kicks off on Friday - and the opening match is an intriguing tie for several reasons. Newly-promoted Burnley produced a record-breaking performance in the Championship to bounce back at the first attempt in dominant fashion, and all under the tutelage of former Man City captain Vincent Kompany.

It is the Belgian's former side who visit Turf Moor for the curtain-raiser and defending champions City are once again favourites in our Outright (fixed odds) and Season Points (spreads) markets to retain their title. Their Season Points spread stands at 86 - 87.5, with a fixed odds price of 8/11. As for Burnley, the Clarets have a Season Points spread of 40.5 - 42 and 17/4 to finish in the Top Half, or 3/1 to face relegation once more. You can view our full list of latest prices by clicking here.

In terms of the opening fixture, City are heavily favoured to get an opening win at 3/10 and with a Supremacy spread of 1.55 - 1.75. H2H form does not make pleasant reading for fans of the home team with Burnley failing to even find the net in the last seven meetings between the two, and losing the last meeting 6-0 in an FA Cup tie as recently as March of this year. Their last win against City did come at Turf Moor in 2015 with a 1-0 success, and the same result can be backed at 20/1 here! View all of our match odds as well as any pre-match BOOSTS here.

Our 'Gameweek Group' spread market specials are also back for the PL! These markets are aggregated totals of things like goals and match results, for example the amount of home wins across the matchday. Our current spreads for Total Goals across 10 matches stands at 28.9 - 29.9 while our Fastest Goal market - which is a spread of the first goal to be scored across all of the matches - is 4.5 - 5.5. GOLF - can rory mcilroy win the FEDEX ST JUDE CHAMPIONSHIP?

In the big golf action coming up from Thursday, the FedEx Cup Playoffs format has now changed and mean that only 70 golfers will be at TPC Southward in Memphis this week for the 2023 FedEx St. Jude Championship. The PGA has cut the playoff field from 125 to 70 this year and the subsequent rise in quality makes for an undeniably challenging betting market as only the most productive players from the 2022-23 PGA season will be present.

The top 50 in the 2023 FedEx Cup standings will advance to the BMW Championship next week as players chase both big weekly prizes and the ultimate $18 million prize pot for the playoff winner.

In our latest Spreadex Tournament Winner odds, world number one Scottie Scheffler is the 6/1 favourite, ahead of Rory McIlroy and Jon Rahm at 9/1. Behind them are Patrick Cantlay (14/1), Xander Schauffele (16/1) and Viktor Hovland (18/1). In our place betting markets, McIlroy is available at 2/1 for a top-5 finish, and with a Player Performance spread of 69 - 75. The Player Performance market is settled as a binary, with 1st receiving 200pts, 2nd-10th receiving 100, 11th-20th receiving 50, 21st-30th receiving 25, missing the cut receiving -25 and all other positions settling at 0. TENNIS - DAN EVANS TO LEAD THE BRIT CHARGE AT THE ATP TORONTO MASTERS?

Britain's Dan Evans produced a highly-surprising victory at the ATP 500 Tournament in Washington over the last week, defeating players like Grigor Dimitrov, Frances Tiafoe and Tallon Griekspoor in the final to win his second (and biggest) career ATP title. Evans had been struggling all season without notable results, but produced some career-best tennis to grab the trophy in the US capital.

Now, the Birmingham native travels North to the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Toronto, Canada, where the competition will be even stiffer with the likes of world number one Carlos Alcaraz in action. Players usually struggle to produce winning performances in back-to-back tournaments with little rest in between, but Evans will surely be riding the crest of a wave and full of confidence to tackle any upcoming challenge in his current form.

For those looking to back Evans to go even further and win his first Masters title here, you can currently back him at outright odds of 80/1!

In terms of the odds on the other Brits in the draw, Andy Murray has won three Masters title in Canada over the course of his career and had a fairly positive week in Washington too in pushing top-10 player Taylor Fritz all the way, and the former world number one is available at odds of 28/1. British number one Cam Norrie will look to rediscover his best form and is available at 40/1.

CRICKET - who will come out on top at 'THE HUNDRED' this week?

There is again plenty of exciting cricket action coming up this week with the latest round of fixtures from The Hundred. London Spirit will take on Southern Brave, Northern Superchargers take on the Trent Rockets, and the Oval Invincibles lock horns with the Manchester Originals.

As a reminder, the table toppers will progress straight through to the final at Lord's on Sunday August 27 with the sides that finish second and third in the group-stage meeting in the Eliminator a day earlier at The Kia Oval to determine who will face the league leaders in the final.

After the first round of matches, the odds have shifted further towards favourites Trent Rockets, who are looking to make it back-to-back tournament victories.
