We have online betting action from football and racing to look forward to, whilst this weekend also sees the BBC Sports Personality of The Year crowned. In this betting blog we run through the runners and riders ahead of a busy sporting week.
The below prices are indicative and may be subject to fluctuation
Please remember that unlike fixed odds betting, when spread betting losses can exceed deposits.
The sixth round of the Champions League gets underway this evening with table-toppers Liverpool and Celtic both in early kick-off action. The Reds are 4/9 to win on the road against a Girona who have won just once in Europe this season whilst Celtic are 19/20 to secure what could be a vital third win away to Dinamo Zagreb.
Aston Villa are one of seven sides who find themselves on ten points and Unai Emery’s side are 6/4 to win at RB Leipzig whilst Manchester City are also away from home this week with Pep Guardiola’s side 19/20 to put the ghosts of Feyenoord to bed.
Arsenal have themselves a glamour tie against Monaco to look forward to though they should breeze past the side from the principality whilst Rangers have a Battle Of Britain tie with Tottenham to look forward to in the Europa League.
As ever we will have plenty of football spread betting options across all of the matches and for a format which lends itself to an accumulator, we also have our acca boost feature.

There is plenty of midweek racing to get stuck into ahead of a weekend which sees the December Gold Cup ran at Cheltenham where Fugitif looks to defend his crown at 5/1.
Fresh off a hat-trick on Tingle Creek day at Sandown, brothers Dan and Harry Skelton will team up with Madara who is the 5/1 joint favourite with
Ga Law, Il Ridoto and Sage Star are all at single figure prices in what promises to be a competitive renewal. Before the weekend we will have every race and meeting covered with our usual array of horse racing spread betting specials and fixed odds boosts.
Finally we finish with something a little different as six runners go to post for the BBC Sports Personality of The Year this weekend.
The 2/5 favourite is 800m golden girl Keeley Hodgkinson, who followed up European Championship success in Rome with the big one in Paris, where she went one better than Tokyo 2020 to clinch Olympic gold.
Her main – and possibly only – threat comes in the form of Luke Littler, who could become the youngest ever winner of the prestigious event. The Nuke needs no introduction after a breakout year saw him win the Grand Slam of Darts and the Premier League after finishing runner-up in the 2024 World Championships.
Away from the north-west titans at the top of the betting, 66/1 shot Alex Yee landed a second Olympic gold after a sensational final burst of speed took him past New Zealand’s Hayden Wilde. Priced up at 80/1 are Britain’s most-decorated para-athlete Sarah Storey who now has 19 gold medals and Joe Root, who surpassed Alastair Cook as England’s highest Test run scorer.
Finally, Jude Bellingham is a 200/1 outsider after he helped Real Madrid win La Liga and the Champions League whilst his overhead kick for England over Slovakia helped set them on their way to the Euro 2024 final.
