We have all sorts of sport to look forward to this week with England in cricket and football action as well as seaside fun coming from the darts at Blackpool and the golf at Hoylake.

CRICKET – ENGLAND v AUSTRALIA 4TH TEST

England head from white rose to red on Wednesday as they go into another pivotal match with old foes Australia, with the tourists just one win away from a first series victory on these shores since 2001.

The hosts have recalled legendary bowler Jimmy Anderson back into the attack in favour of Ollie Robinson and the Burnley Express is priced at 35-39 on our Bowler Performances spread (10 points per wicket, 25 points for a five wicket haul. Across both innings). Moeen Ali raised eyebrows when he came out batting at number three at Headingley in England’s second innings and the white ball wizard will be hoping for some red ball glory this weekend. He is priced at 52-59 in our batsman runs spread.

In terms of the match markets England are 7/5 to win, Australia are 13/5 and the draw - which could be a live contender given the prospect of Manchester rain - is 13/8. Finally, Pat Cummins has lost all three tosses so far, for those who like a novelty bet, he is 10/11 to finally call the coin right.

GOLF – THE OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP

Success in Scotland at the weekend has seen Rory McIlroy punter into outright 13/2 favourite for the Open Championship which gets underway this weekend. Scottie Scheffler is half a point bigger at 7/1 with Jon Rahm at 12/1, defending champion Cameron Smith at 16/1, and local lad Tommy Fleetwood at 20/1. For those who like an each way punt, we are paying 1/5th the odds on seven places.

Further down the markets, new Leeds United part owner Jordan Spieth is 28/1 whilst Australian Adam Scott never quite got over the line in the Open, but the antipodean ace regularly saves his best for the Claret Jug shootout and he can be backed at 66/1.

FOOTBALL – ENGLAND WOMEN v HAITI WOMEN

England get their 2023 World Cup campaign underway this weekend with a clash against Haiti and Sarina Wiegman’s side are long odds-on to get a win on the board. The 1/80 price on the Lionesses will hold little interest to most, so the Supremacy spread could be the way to play this game with England priced as heavy 4.1-4.4 favourites.

The Haitians have been drawn in a tough group and they have their toughest assignment first and they are 5/1, 7/1, and 10/1 to lose 5-0, 6-0 and 7-0 respectively whilst a win for the troubled Caribbean nation is a mammoth 66/1.

In a game with such a heavy favourite another market that can provide interest is the 1st Goal Time spread which is priced at 21-24 or 22-25 on the 1st England Goal spread. The Goals Cubed spread is 166-203 on a night which could get messy for the tournament debutants.

DARTS  – WORLD MATCHPLAY

The first round of the Darts World Matchplay has concluded and we have had our first major shock as Brendan Dolan knocked out one of the pre-tournament favourites Michael Van Gerwen on Sunday evening.

The Green Machine’s malfunction has left Gerwyn Price as 5/2 favourite whilst a mightily impressive Luke Humphries is 17/4 to claim glory. In the quarter betting, quarter three is the tightest with Peter Wright at 2/1, Jonny Clayton at 12/5, Ryan Searle 10/3, and former champion Dimitri van den Bergh 21/10.

There are also some spread specials for the four matches this evening (Tuesday) with Total 180s at 46-48.5, Total Missed Doubles at 114-127 and for those who like a huge spread Highest Checkout x Total 180s is 6035-6355.
