There are plenty of online betting angles this week with a full coupon of midweek football as well as England down in New Zealand in Test match action. Looking further ahead to the weekend we have Grade 1 racing up in Newcastle and all of the main odds and prices are highlighted below on this week’s betting blog.

The below prices are indicative and may be subject to fluctuation

Please remember that unlike fixed odds betting, when spread betting losses can exceed deposits.

FOOTBALL – EUROPEAN ACTION

Arguably one of the biggest ties in the Champions League “group” phase takes place tomorrow with Liverpool installed as 17/20 favourites to beat Real Madrid. With Carlo Ancelotti’s side sat in 18th place, they could do with the points and they are 14/5 to get a win on Merseyside with the draw at 23/10.

A shock defeat against Club Brugge ended Aston Villa’s perfect start, but they are 5/4 to beat Juventus at Villa Park, whilst Arsenal are 6/5 to win on the road against a Ruben Amorim-less Sporting.

Manchester City are 1/6 to end their losing run when they host Feyenoord whilst cross-city rivals Manchester United are 1/5 to beat Norwegian outfit Bodo-Glimt in the Europa League. With both sides so short, a better angle may be on our Supremacy spreads where City are 2.15-2.35 favourites and the Red Devils are 1.85-2.05. Would you buy or sell?

Sat in 15th in the Champions League are Celtic who are even money to get their third win of the campaign at home against Club Brugge whilst their Old Firm rivals have a tough away tie to Nice in the Europa League with the Gers 3/1 to win on the French Riviera.

Finally, in the Europa Conference League, Hearts, TNS, Shamrock Rovers, Larne, and Chelsea are in action and we will have football spread betting markets and a range of fixed odds selections for all of the continental matches this week.

CRICKET – NEW ZEALAND v ENGLAND

Ben Stokes and Brendan McCullum return to the nation of their birth this week looking for a first away series win over New Zealand in five attempts.

The first Test gets underway tomorrow in Christchurch and the hosts have been made narrow 5/6 favourites with England 5/4 and the draw available at 10/1.

England have drafted in Jacob Bethell who will make his Test debut batting at number three and in our batsman runs cricket spread betting market you can buy or sell the Warwickshire whipper-snapper’s runs total at 58-65 (this total comprises the entire match).

The Black Caps have been in scintillating form lately and they head into this series having inflicted a 3-0 whitewash on India back in November, the first touring side to do so there since 2000. Star of the show for the hosts could well be Kane Williamson. At 34-years-old the former Yorkshire player is in the twilight of his career, but he is a sublime batsman when he gets his game going and you can buy or sell his total runs at 83-90.

The action gets underway at 22:00 tomorrow (Wednesday) evening on TNT Sports. For those of you who fancy something during the day, we have live streaming of South Africa’s tour of Sri Lanka.

HORSE RACING – FIGHTING FIFTH HURDLE

With ante-post favourite Constitution Hill found lame for this weekend’s renewal of the Fighting Fifth Hurdle, Sir Gino steps in and is the current even money favourite to take the spoils in Saturday’s Grade 1 clash.

Mystical Power has only suffered defeat once in six starts when second in the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle at Cheltenham is an 11/8 shot whilst Brentford Hope is an 11/2 poke for Harry Derham on his second start of the season.

With Constitution Hill ruled out, there are likely to be more runners making their way to post at Newcastle on Saturday with Lorna Power set to send Colonel Mustard (40/1) over from Ireland and Dan Skelton potentially represented by Take No Chances (33/1).

Away from Newcastle, Newbury have a two-day meeting starting on Friday, with ITV covering both days and or racing traders will have a full range of horse racing spread betting across the card and on a race-by-race basis.
