Online betting punters are spoilt for choice this week with wall-to-wall football, international cricket action, UK Championship snooker, Hero World Challenge and South African Open golf, and the usual array of midweek racing all taking place.

Our traders have sifted through the major action of the week and have marked your card with a  few key events and betting odds.

The below prices are indicative and may be subject to fluctuation

FOOTBALL – EUROPEAN FOOTBALL

Celtic are the first British side in European action this week as they take on Lazio in the 17:45 kick-off this evening but the Bhoys have it all to do in the Italian capital and they are 9/2 to get their first win of the group stage. Newcastle are also on the road to a glamorous location as they try to overturn 4/6 favourites PSG to keep their campaign alive.

Manchester City are strong 3/10 favourites in our Champions League odds to beat RB Leipzig in the other game this evening whilst Arsenal are the same price to beat Lens at home tomorrow. Despite recording a string of wins against lowly opposition in the Premier League, the heat is on Erik ten Hag in Europe with his Manchester United side bottom of their group.

The Red Devils have a tough trip to Istanbul to negotiate with hosts Galatasaray 8/5 to win, the draw available to back at 13/5 and a win for the English side at 31/20.

The action doesn’t stop there for football betting punters with West Ham, Liverpool, and Rangers all heavy favourites to win their Europa League clashes – the treble pays just over 4/5 with our acca boost feature.

FOOTBALL – EFL MATCHES

Closer to home, there is a full coupon of EFL action tonight and as proud supporters of teams in the second tier, it would be remiss of us not to mention it in this betting preview.

Two of our clubs go head-to-head on Sky Sports Main Event this evening as Watford take on Norwich City at Vicarage Road and there is another ‘Spreadex Derby’ with West Bromwich Albion 8/5 to make it two wins from two as they head to Cardiff.

In our football spread betting markets, our principal partner Sunderland are 1.0-1.2 favourites on the Supremacy spread as they host another partner club Huddersfield Town on Wednesday. There are plenty of games in Leagues 1 and 2 as well this week, so why not take advantage of our acca boost offer or our excellent Bet Builder feature to find an angle that suits you.

SNOOKER – UK CHAMPIONSHIP

The great and the good of the snooker world have descended on York for the first Triple Crown event of the 2023/24 season with 32 players battling it out for the glory and the £250,000 winner’s purse.

At the time of writing, Judd Trump was the 14/5 favourite in our snooker betting to win the event with Ronnie O’Sullivan at 9/2 and Mark Selby at 11/2.

The event is already underway with Kyren Wilson a surprise loser in the last 32 when he was defeated by Jamie Clarke. The Welshman, who is ranked 60th in the world is the 100/1 outsider to go on and win the event and he has a tough last 16 tie against fellow countryman Mark Williams to negotiate.

As ever all eyes will be drawn to O’Sullivan who is 3/10 to get the better of Anthony McGill in a match starting this afternoon whilst the reigning world champion Luca Brecel is 8/11 to overcome China’s Zhang Anda.

We have plenty of markets covering all of the action from York and if you want to learn more about snooker spread betting then we have plenty of hints and tips to get you started.

GOLF – HERO WORLD CHALLENGE

A field containing 20 of the best golfers in the world will take part in the Hero World Challenge this weekend in the Bahamas and Viktor Hovland is the 15/4 favourite with the Norwegian superstar looking to make it three successive victories at the event.

On both of those occasions, Hovland has beaten Scottie Scheffler into second place and the American is the second favourite in our golf betting at 17/4 with Colin Morikawa at 13/2. British interest comes in the form of 18/1 shot Matt Fitzpatrick and another Ryder Cup hero Justin Rose who is 33/1.

Host Tiger Woods hasn’t won this event since 2007 and the 47-year old is 66/1 to win the event – which is for the benefit of the Tiger Woods Foundation – for the fifth time.
