HULL V SUNDERLAND, SATURDAY 3PM
The Black Cats were in action twice during the World Cup and had mixed fortunes, grabbing a very impressive 3-0 victory over Millwall, but also falling to a disappointing 2-1 defeat to West Brom even though they took the lead. That three-point swing was fairly significant, as a win would have meant they would have been in 7th place and just outside the play-off places, to currently sitting 10th and looking to avoid back-to-back defeats which could push them further towards the bottom end of the table.
Although Hull currently sitting 21st and winless in four matches, Spreadex have installed the home side as slight favourites ahead of this one, with a Goal Supremacy spread of Hull/Sunderland 0 - 0.2. This translates to 13/8 for a Hull win on the fixed odds, with the draw at 23/10 and the Black Cats at 19/10. Total Goals are available at 2.3 - 2.5, with Total Goal Minutes at 118 - 128.
Sunderland will surely take encouragement from the fact they have only lost one of the last five meetings against Hull - a penalty shootout defeat in the League Cup, although there have been two draws in the last two league meetings, with both sides scoring in each of those. You can back both teams to score at 4/5.
HUDDERSFIELD V WATFORD, SATURDAY 3PM
The Terriers still remain rooted to the foot of the table, and will know the vital importance of winning this fixture (which acts as a game in hand compared to teams immediately above them in the standings). Currently six points from safety, a defeat here could potentially be a critical blow to hopes of survival this season.
They will have to overcome the odds though as Spreadex have installed the away side as favourites for the win at 21/20 on the fixed odds, with Huddersfield at 14/5, and the draw 23/10. On the spread betting Goal Supremacy market this translates to Watford/H'field 0.35 – 0.55. Total Goals are at 2.25 - 2.45, with Total Goal Minutes at 116 - 126.
The home side will look for some solace though in the fact that they have beaten Watford in two of the last three fixtures at this ground, and the away side have been in poor goalscoring form recently with their last two matches being 0-0 stalemates. Another 0-0 here is available at 13/2.
WEST BROM V ROTHERHAM, SATURDAY 3PM
The Baggies continued their recent resurgence since the arrival of their new manager with an impressive come-from-behind win away at Sunderland last time out, meaning they have now won four consecutive matches in the Championship and will hope this second half of the season can still allow them to potentially push for the play-off places.
Spreadex have installed the home side as heavy favourites to make it five in a row in front of their home fans at 4/9 on the fixed odds, with Rotherham at 13/2 and the draw 18/5. On the spread betting Goal Supremacy market this translates to West Brom/Rotherham 1.15 – 1.35. Rotherham have lost three of their last five, and last beat the Baggies way back in 2004.
In terms of goals, we have Total Goals available at 2.65 - 2.85, with Total Goal Minutes at 135 - 155.
NORWICH V BLACKBURN, SATURDAY 5.30PM
The evening kick-off looks to be a hotly-contested fixture between the fourth-placed Canaries and third-placed Blackburn, with the home side knowing they will overtake the visitors with a win and keep pace at the top of the table behind leaders Burnley and Sheffield Utd. Both sides have played once during the World Cup, with Norwich grabbing a win over Swansea while Blackburn fell to a disappointing 4-1 demolition at home to Preston.
With that in mind, Norwich come into the fixture as pre-match favourites to compound Blackburn's woes, with a Goal Supremacy spread of 0.65 - 0.85, and on the fixed odds at 3/4. Blackburn are available at 15/4, with the draw at 11/4. Total Goal Minutes are at 129 - 139, and Total Goals are at 2.5 - 2.7.
The last three meetings at Carrow Road have seen one victory for Norwich and two draws, with both teams scoring each time. You can back BTTS here as well at 4/5.
BURNLEY V MIDDLESBROUGH, SATURDAY 3PM
The league-leading Clarets picked up where they left off as they got back in action a few days ago as they dismantled QPR 3-0 away from home, and now have some breathing room at the top of the table as they lead by three points. The visiting challenge of Boro will unlikely be easy though, as they are currently one of the other form sides in the league, winning four of their last five matches (one draw).
Spreadex have installed the home side as favourites ahead of this one at Turf Moor, with a Goal Supremacy spread of Burnley/Boro at 0.35 - 0.55. This translates on the fixed odds to Burnley at 21/20, Middlesbrough at 14/5 and the draw at 5/2. Total Goals are at 2.5 - 2.7 and Total Goal Minutes are at 127 - 137. The last five meetings have seen two wins for Burnley, two draws and one win for Boro.
While an unlikely-looking scenario here, the last meeting ended 0-0, and you can back another stalemate at 8/1.
