SUNDERLAND v blackburn, MONDAY 12.30PM
The Black Cats have hit a mini-slump after their recent resurgence and have only scored a solitary point from their last two matches, and that point only coming against a Hull side languishing near the foot of the table. They will face a very tough test here as well against Blackburn, who secured a hugely impressive 2-0 win over Norwich last time out, making their third-place position slightly more secure.
However, the visitors fell to a potentially demoralising 4-1 thrashing to Nottingham Forest in the EFL Cup in midweek, Spreadex have installed the home side as slight favourites ahead of this one, with a Goal Supremacy spread of Sunderland/Blackburn 0.1 - 0.3. This translates to 23/10 for a Blackburn win on the fixed odds, with the draw also at 23/10 and the Black Cats at 7/5. Total Goals are available at 2.3 - 2.5, with Total Goal Minutes at 119 - 129.
The last five meetings have seen two wins apiece and a 0-0 draw, albeit with Blackburn winning both of the most recent matches 2-0. However, both of those were home wins and Sunderland scored 2-1 and 3-0 successes in the last matches at the Stadium of Light. 2-1 is available here at 8/1, with 3-0 at 18/1.
preston v HUDDERSFIELD, MONDAY 3PM
The Terriers continue to be mired in relegation danger sitting at the foot of the table, and once again fell to defeat in their last match against Watford. Things aren't looking too promising either when the stats show three defeats and a draw in their last four meetings with Preston.
They will have to overcome the odds to secure anything on the road here as Spreadex have installed the home side as favourites for the win at Deepdale - 87/100 on the fixed odds, with Huddersfield at 7/2, and the draw 5/2. On the spread betting Goal Supremacy market this translates to Preston/H'field 0.55 – 0.75. Total Goals are at 2.25 - 2.45, with Total Goal Minutes at 115 - 125.
Huddersfield have been in especially form goalscoring form of late and have failed to find the net in their last three league matches. Preston, meanwhile, also failed to find a goal in their 1-0 defeat to QPR last time out. With the last head to head meeting at this ground finishing 0-0, a repeat of that can be backed at 13/2.
bristol city v WEST BROM, MONDAY 3PM
The Baggies mini-revival came crashing to a halt as their five-match winning streak ended with a disappointing 1-0 loss to Coventry, and they will look to bounce back immediately here against Bristol City to avoid any repeat run of their early season woes. Their hosts here have won just one of their last five, so this may well be an ideal opponent to face in these circumstances.
As such, Spreadex have installed the away side as favourites to grab a win on the road - at 7/5 on the fixed odds, with Rotherham at 21/10 and the draw 23/10. On the spread betting Goal Supremacy market this translates to West Brom/Bristol City 0.1 – 0.3. The last five matches have seen three West Brom wins, one draw and a Bristol City win - which came in the most recent fixture.
In terms of goals, we have Total Goals available at 2.45 - 2.65, with Total Goal Minutes at 124 - 134. The last meeting at this ground saw four goals in a 2-2 draw, including goals in the 85th and 90th minutes. Another 2-2 result can be backed at 11/1.
luton v NORWICH, MONDAY 7.45PM
Norwich again lost ground as they failed to grab any points against rivals Blackburn, meaning the Canaries could do with an away win here to avoid potentially falling out of the top six. Luton are not in great form with just one win in their last seven matches, and the visitors will need to capitalise on the opportunity.
However, the home side begin as very slight favourites, with a Goal Supremacy spread of -0.1 - 0.1, and on the fixed odds at 13/8. Norwich are available at 17/10, with the draw at 23/10. Total Goal Minutes are at 126 - 136, and Total Goals are at 2.45 - 2.65.
The home side have been dominant against the Canaries in recent times though, comfortably winning three of the last four - with two of those wins coming with 3-1 scorelines. The away side will hope to turn the tables here.
BURNLEY V BIRMINGHAM, TUESDAY 8PM
The league-leading Clarets crashed out of the EFL Cup in midweek to Man Utd, but that will unlikely dampen their spirits too much or affect their title charge in the Championship. They are still three points clear at the top and will be aiming to grab a fifth consecutive league win here.
Although the visitors come into this one off the back of a morale-boosting win last time out, Spreadex have installed Burnley as favourites ahead of this one at Turf Moor, with a Goal Supremacy spread of Burnley/Birmingham at 0.85 - 1.05. This translates on the fixed odds to Burnley at 3/5, Birmingham at 24/5 and the draw at 14/5. Total Goals are at 2.45 - 2.65 and Total Goal Minutes are at 124 - 134.
The last five meetings have seen two Burnley wins and three draws - with scorelines of 1-1, 2-2 and 3-3. You can back a draw with both teams scoring at 15/4.
