Spread Bets Of The Day
A tantalising 4th Ashes Test, a trip to Norway for England’s women and the US Open quarter-finals make-up the Spread Bets of the Day! 1. England vs Australia 4th Test – Steven Smith SMR, 132-142The 4th Test at Old Trafford has an impossibly high bar to clear in terms of excitement and drama. From Jofra Archer’s 6/45 in the 1st innings to England’s 67 all out to Ben Stokes’ heroics, the 3rd Test had a bit of everything. However, England could only narrowly beat Australia without the then-concussed Steve Smith. His return in the 4th Test could be the game-changer; the Aussie goes into Wednesday morning at a Super Mega Runs spread of 132-142. That’s where runs 1-50 count normally, runs 51-100 count double and runs 101-plus count treble. Both innings are added separately. 2. Norway (W) v England (W) – England/Norway (h) Goal Supremacy, 0.15-0.35England are still chasing their first win since losing their World Cup –semi-final to the USA, that result followed by their 3rd place play-off defeat to Sweden and, last Thursday, a 3-3 draw against Belgium. Luckily Tuesday sees them take on the last team they actually beat: Norway. They met in France in the quarter-finals, with Jill Scott, Ellen White and Lucy Bronze giving Phil Neville’s women a 3-0 win. And though they may be without Scott and White, an England/Norway (h) Goal Supremacy spread of just 0.15-0.35 could be worth a watch. 3. Elina Svitolina vs Johanna Konta – Konta 2-1, 12.5-21.1Looking to reach her first ever US Open semi-final – which would complete a career quartet of Grand Slam semis – Johanna Konta takes on no. 5 seed Elina Svitolina. The Brit has looked troubled at a few points, taken to 3 sets in the 1st and 4th rounds, though that latter match did see her beat no. 3 seed Karolina Pliskova. She could go the distance again, with Spreadex offering a Konta 2-1 binary spread of 12.5-22.1. 4. Serena Williams vs Wang Qiang – Williams Outright Index, 35.5-38.5Still chasing a record-equalling 24th Grand Slam – and her first since giving birth – Serena Williams has dropped a solitary set, surprisingly to wild card Caty McNally. Facing Wang Qiang in the quarter-finals, the legendary American is the favourite for the entire competition at an Outright Index spread of 35.5-38.5, where the winner gets 60 points and the semi-finalists get 40. 5. Roger Federer vs Gregor Dimitrov – Total Games, 33-35After 4 set wobbles in the first 2 rounds, Roger Federer has been laser-focused, beating Daniel Evans 6-2 6-2 6-1 and David Goffin 6-2 6-2 6-0 en route to the quarter-finals. That makes a Total Games spread of 33-35 pretty interesting as the Swiss supremo prepares to meet Gregor Dimitrov. Disclaimer: prices quoted are subject to change.
