Spread Bets Of The Day
Liverpool look to take advantage of a wobbly Atletico Madrid, Erling Braut Haaland makes his Champions League return, and Portsmouth host Exeter in the EFL Trophy – it’s our Spread Bets of the Day! 1. Atletico Madrid v Liverpool – Liverpool/Atletico (h) Goal Supremacy, 0.15-0.35Unstoppable in the Premier League, European title holders Liverpool haven’t been quite as emphatic in the Champions League. Then again, maybe that’s only in comparison to their domestic form. They may have suffered a 2-0 defeat in their opener in Napoli, but they didn’t lose a game after that – even if the Italians remain the only side Liverpool have faced and not beaten in 2019/20 – topping Group E with a point to spare. Atletico, meanwhile, were 6 points shy of Juventus by the end of the group stages, only managing to score 5 times in 6 games. They’ve also have a wobble since 2020 began – in 9 games in all competitions Atletico have only won thrice, a period that saw them exit the Copa del Rey and lost the Supercopa de Espana after extra time. Something the Spaniards do have in their favour, however, is that they’ve only lost once at the Wanda Metropolitano all season, a 1-0 defeat against Barcelona back in December. With the league effectively in the bag, the Reds perhaps have a bit more energy to dedicate to Europe than during the group stages. That maybe explains why they’re at an agonisingly slight Liverpool/Atletico (h) Goal Supremacy spread of 0.15-0.35. 2. Borussia Dortmund v PSG – Erling Braut Haaland SMM, 48-56Erling Braut Haaland. Wunderkind. Record breaker. And Borussia Dortmund’s best chance of beating PSG? The Norwegian forward scored 28 goals in 22 games for Red Bull Salzburg in the first half of the season – including 8 in Europe – before making the move to Dortmund in January. He didn’t lose a step after the transfer, picking up 9 goals in his first 6 games for the club. And with PSG bringing Edison Cavani, Kylian Mbappe and the back from injury Neymar to Germany, Lucien Favre could really do with the 19-year old resuming his European form on Tuesday. Haaland goes into the 1st leg at a SMM spread of 48-56, behind Mbappe at 49-57, but ahead of Neymar at 39-45 and Cavani at 32-38. 3. Portsmouth v Exeter – Portsmouth to win match, 55.5-62Pompey are chasing their 2nd consecutive EFL Trophy final when they host Exeter on Tuesday, having won the competition on penalties last season. Both teams are in the midst of a promotion push: Portsmouth are 6th in League One, but with at least a game in hand, while the Grecians are 2nd in League Two. That difference in division perhaps explains why Portsmouth are at such a high win match binary spread of 55.5-62, which makes up to 100 for a victory and 0 for a loss.
