Spread Bets Of The Day
Rangers and Aberdeen feature in Europa League (qualifying) action this Thursday, while Wayne Rooney travels to Cincinnati. 1. RoPS Rovaniemi vs Aberdeen – Sam Cosgrove SMM, 46-54Finnish runners-up RoPS Rovaniemi dragged themselves back into their Europa League qualifying match-up against Aberdeen, stealing an away goal with what may as well have been the final kick of the game. Still, the Scots did win the fixture 2-1 thanks to goals from Niall McGinn and last season’s top scorer Sam Cosgrove. The 22-year old could the difference maker on Thursday, and sits at a SMM spread of 46-54. 2. Rangers vs St Joseph’s - Goal Rush, 67-70Stevie G’s side have looked fairly confident in the pre-season. In fact, during their Europa League qualifying 1st round 1st leg they hammered St Joseph’s in Gibraltar, leaving the island with 4 away goals to their name. There isn’t, then, any need for another big one on Thursday night. That makes a Goal Rush spread of 67-70 an interesting watch, given the price implies as many as 5 goals during the 2nd leg. 3. Wigan Warriors vs Wakefield Trinity – Joe Burgess SMM, 65-70The Warriors will be looking to keep Castleford – who are only behind Wigan on points difference – at bay by beating Wakefield, at 7.45pm on Sky Sports Arena. Worryingly they lost to Trinity when they visited the Mobile Rocket Stadium back in April, while last weekend they were put in their place by Super League leaders St Helens. Nevertheless, in Joe Burgess they have one of the league’s top tryscorers – he heads into Thursday night at SMM spread of 65-70. 4. San Diego Padres @ Miami Marlins - Cross-Runs, 14-17Having lost their 1st game 12-7, the Padres fought back on Wednesday night, narrowly beating their Miami hosts 3-2. After that low-scoring affair the Cross-Runs spread is sitting at a relatively slight 14-17 – as a point of reference, it made up to 84 in game 1 but just 6 in game 2. 5. FC Cincinnati vs DC United – Cincinnati to win match, 35.7-40Wayne Rooney’s DC United are in a bit of a slump. Across both the MLS and US Open Cup, they’ve won just twice in their last 11 games, losing thrice – including a cup defeat to New York City – while drawing the other 6 fixtures. As for Cincinnati, there might be rumblings of a turnaround. They might be at the bottom of the entire MLS, but they have won their last 2 games, beating Houston Dynamo and Chicago Fire. That upswing in form has given them the marginal edge on Thursday, with Cincinnati at a binary to win match spread of 35.7-40 to United’s 32.2-38.1.
