Spread Bets Of The Day
Man City approach the Champions League last-16 more urgent than ever, Juventus travel to Lyon and South Africa and Australia battle for the series in the 3rd and final T20I – it’s the Spread Bets of the Day! 1. Real Madrid v Man City – Man City/Real Madrid (h) Goal Supremacy, 0.1-0.3This is going to be an interesting one. Pep Guardiola’s record at City is glaringly incomplete, the Spaniard unable to win the Champions League whilst at the club. Now he is facing his last chance to do so for a while, the usual pressure to perform in Europe ratcheted up to a whole different level in the face of City’s impending 2-season ban. Guardiola himself has never got the blue half of Manchester beyond the quarter-finals. Only once has the club reached the semis, under Manuel Pellegrini in 2015-16. Then they were prevented from reaching the final by a solitary goal at the Bernabeu, following a 0-0 stalemate at the Etihad. It is perhaps fitting, then, that City’s first post-ban announcement test is a return to Real Madrid’s ostensible fortress. And it’s not a bad time to be making that trip – City’ve won their last 2 league fixtures, while their hosts have drawn against Celta Vigo and lost to the relegation-bound Leganes. Factor in the absence of Eden Hazard – potentially out for the rest of the season with a fractured ankle – and the return of Raheem Sterling, and it explains why the visitors are at a very slender Man City/Real Madrid (h) Goal Supremacy spread of 0.1-0.3. 2. Lyon v Juventus – Cristiano Ronaldo SMM, 40-47Juventus have been dealt one of the kinder draws in the Champions League last-16. Lyon are going through a completely middling season domestically, sat in 7th place, and in Europe they just about got to the knockouts, scraping in ahead of Benfica and Zenit Saint Petersburg. In comparison Juve are back at the top of Serie A, and were unbeaten in the group stages, with 5 wins and a draw. Cristiano Ronaldo was unusually quiet during the last round in Europe, with only 2 goals in 6 games. He is on a tear at the moment, however – 13 of his 24 goals this season have come in 2020, leaving him at a SMM spread of 40-47. 3. South Africa v Australia 3rd T20 – Australia/South Africa Supremacy, 12-20Proteas were on the wrong end of one hell of a spanking in their 1st T20I against Australia, scoring their all-time format low of 89 runs en route to a 107 run defeat. Yet they rallied in Port Elizabeth, sneaking a 12 run victory despite David Warner going 67 unbeaten. So, who will take the series this Wednesday? The visitors are favoured at an Australia/South Africa Supremacy spread of 12-20, where it’s 1 point per run or 10 points per wicket won by. Disclaimer: quoted prices are subject to change
