Spread Bets Of The Day
There’s an unlikely battle for Europe between Sheffield and Wolves, a tough trip to Man City for Newcastle, and the Barcelona derby – but what markets should you be watching? 1. Sheffield United v Wolves – Total Goal Minutes, 100-110As Norwich and Aston Villa fight to stay in the top flight, Sheffield United are chasing a place in Europe next season – as are Wolves. Who will come out on top, at 6pm on Sky Sports Premier League?Victory for the hosts would see them leapfrog Arsenal in 7th; a win for the visitors would keep up tine pressure on 5th place Man United. It’s also the lowest scoring side in the top half, against a team with only 4 goals since the restart. Hence an unpromising Total Goal Minutes spread of 100-110. The Blades can turn it on, however; just look at their 3-1 win over Spurs. 2. Man City v Newcastle – Man City/Newcastle Goal Supremacy, 2.55-2.75Which Man City is going to turn up on Wednesday – the side that hammered champs Liverpool 4-0, or the team that lost 1-0 at Southampton? They face Newcastle at the Etihad at 6pm on BT Sport 1. Given the hosts’ see-sawing form, and the fact the Mapgies are unbeaten in their last 6 Premier League fixtures, a massive Man City/Newcastle Goal Supremacy of 2.55-2.75 is a bit of a surprise. Then again, City did win 2-0 at St James’s Park in the FA Cup at the end of June.Still, if you bought that Supremacy spread, you’d need City to win by 3 goals clear to start making any money.3. West Ham v Burnley – Michail Antonio SMM, 24-29The Hammers can’t really afford to drop points against Burnley, at 6pm on BT Sport 2. The Clarets, meanwhile, could still nab a place in the Europa League if certain fixtures go their way. The hosts have seen an uptick in form in July, with their thrilling win over Chelsea followed by a solid – if frustrating – 2-2 draw at Newcastle Michail Antonio scored in both those games, leaving him on a SMM spread of 24-29. 4. Brighton v Liverpool – Liverpool/Brighton TGM Supremacy, 45-49Liverpool haven’t been at their best since winning the title – will that change when they travel to Brighton, at 8.15pm on Sky Sports Premier League? The Reds have only actually conceded against Man City since the restart, holding off Everton, Palace and Villa. The Seagulls, meanwhile, have scored in 2 of their 4 fixtures. Hence a Liverpool/Brighton (h) Total Goal Minutes supremacy spread of 45-49. 5. Barcelona v Espanyol – Bookings, 53-57There both is and isn’t a lot to play for in Wednesday’s Barcelona derby, at 9pm on La Liga TV (Sky 435). Barca are 4 points behind Real Madrid in the title race, requiring their rivals to mess up a fairly easy run-in. Sat in 20th place, 11 points off Eibar in 17th, Espanyol need a miracle to prevent relegation. It’s the kind of atmosphere where tempers could flare – that’s why Spreadex is offering a Bookings spread of 53-57.
