Top 3 bets for Friday's football, rugby and snooker

Is there Friday Night Football in the Premier League tonight?

The Premier League weekend starts early with Southampton’s game against Aston Villa tonight. This hosts have found a bit of form, with seven points from their last three games, the same return they’d had from the previous 10. At the same time, Villa have lost their way a bit and head to St Mary’s on a run of four straight defeats. Only bottom two Norwich and Newcastle have conceded more goals than Villa this season. Former Saints striker Danny Ings is part of a lengthy Villa injury list and won’t play.

Che Adams Player Goal Minutes (17-20)

Former Birmingham star Adams would like nothing more than to score against Villa, and we’ve seen some buying in the Player Goal Minutes market due to his recent form. The Scotland international has scored the Saints’ goal in each of the past two games, against Chelsea in the EFL Cup and the only goal of the game against Watford last week. There’s some real competition for places in the Southampton attack, with Chelsea loanee Armando Broja coming back from injury and big money summer signing Adam Armstrong hoping to start too.

Is there a Gallagher Premiership rugby union game tonight?

The two traditional heavyweights of English rugby meet tonight as Leicester take on Bath in the Premiership. For years these two were the big guns of English rugby, but while Leicester are enjoying a renaissance, Bath are enduring a real struggle. The Tigers are top, having won all seven of their games this season, while Bath are bottom, losing all six of theirs. Leicester are without seven players on Autumn international duty but this could be the perfect game to blood some youngsters.

Match Multi-Points (611-659)

Leicester are averaging 32 points per game, while Bath concede the name number on average, and with this being a clash of top against bottom, there could be a big score on the cards. Buyers have been looking at Match Multi-Points, which is made up of first half total points multiplied by second half.

What other live sport is on tonight?

We’ve getting to the business end of the English Open snooker in Milton Keynes, and the line-up for the quarter-finals is like a who’s who of modern snooker. Tonight sees last year’s second place finisher Neil Robertson take on 2017 runner-up Kyren Wilson for a place in the semi-final against Mark King, who stopped a run of 10 straight defeats against Judd Trump to knock him out this afternoon. Robertson has a run of his own to stop, though not quite as serious, as he looks to avoid a 4th straight loss to Wilson.

Total Points (789-824)

Despite losing three straight games against this opponent, Roberston starts as 4/7 favourite tonight with Wilson out at 5/4. The theory is that the Aussie is more used to playing on the feature table, something Kyren has been criticising this week. Whatever your view on those prices and Roberston’s favouritism, there’s little doubt this game looks close. The Total Points market will be a buy for those expecting a long, close match, and a sell for those who think one of these players will roll over the other.
