Top 3 bets for Thursday's Europa League & NFL

Is there any British interest in the Europa League tonight?

There is, with West Ham playing Genk and Rangers facing Brondby. Leicester and Celtic have already played earlier in the week, both securing their 1st win each of the group stage.

West Ham are top of Group H after two 2-0 wins to start their campaign. They host Belgian side Genk this evening knowing a third straight win will make them strong favourites to progress. David Moyes has hinted that he may rest some players tonight, but Tomas Soucek is available after his nasty facial injury suffered at Everton, though he is one of the candidates for a rest. If Moyes does ring the changes, the likes of Mark Noble and Andriy Yarmolenko will look to take their chance to impress.

Headed Goal Minutes 37-40

West Ham are always a danger from set pieces, as shown by Angelo Ogbonna’s winner at Everton on Sunday, but the visitors also bring their own threat, 6ft7 striker Paul Onuachu. He’s been compared to Romelu Lukaku, and linked with numerous English clubs. After 29 goals in 33 games last season, he has 9 in 19 this. Will Onuachu be able to use tonight as a shop window?

Rangers play a must win game against fellow Group A strugglers Brondby. Steven Gerrard’s side have lost both their opening two games and are bottom of the group, one point behind tonight’s Danish visitors. Gerrard has urged striker Alfredo Morelos to up his scoring rate, telling him that 5 goals in 15 games is not enough. Morelos should get some chances to improve on that tonight and grab his 100th Rangers goal, given that Brondby’s regular keeper is out injured and will be replaced by 38-year-old Tomas Mikkelsen.

Morelos Player Goal Minutes 26-29

Manager Gerrard is right to call out Morelos’ lack of output this season, and we’ve seen some speculative buys in his markets with punters presumably hoping a rocket from his boss is what the Colombian needed. Morelos had his heard turned in the summer when he was linked with a number of moves to Premier League clubs, none of which went through. Now he needs to get his head down and work hard, but will Gerrard going public with his demand for more goals have a positive or negative effect?

Who is playing in the NFL Thursday Night Football?

The Cleveland Browns face the Denver Broncos tonight in a game between two sides struggling with injuries that may decide the directions of their seasons. The Browns are without quarterback Baker Mayfield, who has a shoulder injury, while Denver QB Teddy Bridgewater is questionable with a foot injury. It’s been a tough couple of weeks for both Denver and Cleveland, both now having 3-3 records after starting 3-0 and 3-1 respectively. Whoever wins tonight will hope to use it as a springboard to get their season going again, but for the losing team, the dark clouds will be closing in.

Teddy Bridgewater QB Performance 90-98

With Bridgewater rumoured to be ready to take to the field despite his foot and quads ailments, we’ve seen some selling in his performance markets as punters either expect to see him struggle, or maybe not even make it through the game. The QB Performance market awards 3 points per completion, 1 point per rushing yard, 10 points per rushing or passing touchdown and -5 for each turnover.
