Spread Bets Of The Day
What’s the biggest game in the Champion League tonight?
While there might be games with more resting on them, the repeat of last year’s semi-final between Manchester City and PSG is without doubt the game of the day. It’s no coincidence that two of the richest clubs in the world boast two of the strongest squads, and the likes of Messi, Mbappe, Neymar and maybe even Sergio Ramos, yet to make his debut for PSG, will be on show at the Etihad. City will go through with a draw, and that would leave them just needing to better the French side’s result in the final round of games to lock up top spot and the easier last 16 draw.
Lionel Messi Super Mega Minutes (21-26)
Messi has a fantastic record against City, with seven goals in seven games against the side managed by his mentor, Pep Guardiola. We’ve seen buyers for Messi’s Goal Minutes (14-17) but Super Mega Minutes, which doubles the minutes of any second goal and trebles those of any third, has been most popular. The Argentine maestro has yet to find his feed in French football, but class is permanent and Messi has saved some of his greatest displays for this competition.
Are Liverpool in Champions League action tonight?
Liverpool face Porto tonight but having been drawn in the ‘Group of Death’, the Reds have already locked up top spot and their last 16 place after four wins from their four games. That impressive form includes a 5-1 win at Porto on matchday 2 in September. With one eye on the busy period of fixtures leading up to the festive period, Jurgen Klopp is set to rotate his squad and give some of the peripheral players a game. For Porto, veteran defender Pepe is set to make his 100th Champions League appearance, becoming just the second Portuguese player to achieve that milestone, after Cristiano Ronaldo.
Porto Performance (25-29)
With Liverpool set to name an understrength team, Porto have everything to play for. They’re currently in second place in Group B, a position that will see them through to the last 16 if they can maintain it. With a one point advantage over Atletico Madrid, and four points over AC Milan, if Porto can claim the win tonight they will join Liverpool in the knockouts. It’s a big ask of course for a team that lost 5-1 at home to win at Anfield, but we have seen some buyers in the Porto Performance market, which awards 25 points for a win, 15 for a goal, 10 for a draw, 10 for a clean sheet and 3 for a corner, with -5 for a yellow card and -15 for a red.
Is Ronnie O’Sullivan playing in the UK Championship snooker?
Ronnie makes his entrance into the tournament tonight with his first round game against Michael White. The seven-times champion could have been given an easier draw in the 128-runner event than two-time tour winner White, but O’Sullivan is of course short priced favourite. Having been in decent form, Ronnie was a long way from his best last week when he was thrashed 6-1 by John Higgins in the Champion of Champions event. The Rocket will be hoping to put that performance behind him with a strong showing against White tonight.
Total Points (871-906)
We’ve seen some selling in the Total Points market, with punters presumably expecting Ronnie to make light work of White and end this best of 11 frames match early. The six-times world champion made mistake after mistake against Higgins last week and was punished, so it will be interesting whether Ronnie can get straight back to business of suffers some kind of hangover from that drubbing.
