Top 3 Bets for Wednesday's Champions League & PGA Tour Golf

Are Manchester United playing tonight?

United welcome Group F leaders Atalanta to Old Trafford in need of a victory to kickstart their season. After just one win in their last five games – and that the 2-1 Champions League victory over Villarreal where United rode their luck to say the least – the pressure is growing on manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. The Red Devils would leapfrog Atalanta, currently one point ahead of them on four points, with a win, and provide a timely boost ahead of Sunday’s clash with bitter rivals Liverpool. The Italian side are 6th in Serie A, and have lost only one – a 3-2 reverse against Milan – of the past seven games.

Atalanta Total Goal Minutes (59-67)

United defended terribly against Leicester on Saturday, and the 4-2 defeat could have been heavier. It’s been nine games since they kept a clean sheet, and with Atalanta’s slick counter-attacking style perhaps suited to playing away, punters have been keen to get with the visitors. Will United sort out their defensive deficiencies tonight?

Who are Chelsea playing in the other Champions League game?

Chelsea face Malmo at Stamford Bridge in a game they are big favourites to win as they look to close the gap on Group H leaders Juventus. The Swedish side have lost both their Champions League games this season, but domestically continue doing well, topping the Swedish League. The holders have already lost to Juve in this group and anything other than a comfortable win tonight will be a bit of a disaster.

Total Goal Minutes 171-186

The Blues have not looked at their best of late, and we’ve seen some selling in various markets as punters don’t envisage a goal-fest tonight. Chelsea have maintained their defensive solidity, the foundation for their recent success, but Romelu Lukaku is going through a bit of a goal drought, and there’s not many goals coming from other areas. Chelsea haven’t conceded more than one goal in any game this season, even the two they lost. Both Manchester City and Juventus beat Chelsea 1-0, but Thomas Tuchel’s team have won both games since. Will they throw the shackles off tonight, or will this be another tight game?

What time does this week’s PGA Tour event start?

The PGA Tour heads to Japan this week for the ZOZO Championship, and with midnight start tonight UK time, punters have been getting their bets in early. The tournament returns to Japan, having been held in the USA last season, and to Accordia Golf Narashino CC, where Tiger Woods won by three shots in 2019, his 82nd and at the moment last PGA Tour win.

Leaderboard Index Rickie Fowler 5.5-7.5

After a couple of years to forget, Rickie Fowler looked back to his best, or very close, at home in Las Vegas last week. This week the Tour heads to Japan, and while some players may not fancy the trip or enjoy the cultural differences, Fowler has a Japanese grandfather and would love to claim this title. The Leaderboard Index awards points to the top 8 finishing positions, 80 for 1st, 40 for 2nd, 30 for 3rd, 25 for 4th, 20 for 5th, 15 for 6th, 10 for 7th and 5 for 8th. Punters backing Fowler to continue the form he showed at the CJ Cup last week, when he finished tied 3rd behind Rory McIlroy and Colin Morakawa, having started the final day two shots clear, are buying at 7.5 and will be in profit if he finishes 7th or better. Is Fowler back, or was last week an exception?
