Spread Bets Of The Day

Top 5 Bets from the Carabao Cup, IPL & Newcastle races

When do the big boys enter the Carabao Cup?

Now! The Third Round of the Carabao Cup starts tonight and the clubs with European commitments join the action.

Norwich v Liverpool

Arguably the tie of the night sees two Premier League teams clash for the second time already this season. The Canaries had nothing to sing about on the opening, when Liverpool beat them 3-0 at Carrow Road. Norwich have gone on to lose all four of their subsequent Premier League games since too.

Curtis Jones Player Goal Minutes (10-13)

The Liverpool management have come out and said that Jones will definitely play in this game, and after some lively cameos off the bench recently, there’s been some interest in the midfielder’s goal minutes. Jones has scored two in three games in this competition.

Manchester City v Wycombe Wanderers

Holders Manchester City are likely to be much changed as they welcome Wycombe to the Etihad. Despite the impending squad rotation, City are 1/14 to win tonight, with the Chairboys, who stand 5th in League One, 20/1. The likes of Kevin de Bruyne, Riyad Mahrez and Phil Foden, all of whom have been out of the first choice XI, could come in, as well as some of Pep’s younger players.

Manchester City Goal Rush (45-48)

Ignoring Saturday’s goalless draw with Southampton, City have been on fire at home of late, putting five past both Norwich and Arsenal in the Premier League, and six past RB Leipzig in the Champions League. The Goal Rush index awards points per goal scored: 0 points for 0 goals, 10 for 1, 20 for 2, 33 for 3, 50 for 4, 70 for 5 and 100 for 6 or more. Which City will turn up, the free scoring one we’ve seen earlier this season, or the shot shy version that were held by the Saints?

Fulham v Leeds

Fulham have started the season quickly in the Championship, currently lying in second as they look for an immediate return to the big time. Leeds have not yet hit their stride in the Premier League, sitting just one place outside the relegation zone after five winless games to start the season. The Yorkshire side did do the Premier League double over Fulham last season though.

Total Goals 2.8-3

Leeds’ open way of playing has made them everyone’s second favourite team, and as they showed on Friday night against Newcastle, they’ll always give up chances but can create plenty too. The Cottagers have only failed to register once in their nine games this season, and there were 10 goals in the two games between the teams last season.

What’s today’s IPL game?

Punjab Kings v Rajasthan Royals

Both these teams stand outside the top 4 on 6 points as they restart their IPL seasons. Whoever wins will feel fully part of the playoff battle, but a loss could be the beginning of the end of the season. Spreadex fixed odds has the Kings slight favourites (5/6) though there’s hardly anything between them and the Royals (19/20).

Multi-Sixes (41-48)

These two teams look pretty well matched, which is important for anyone buying in this market, which multiplies one team’s total sixes by the other. A one-sided game like yesterday’s would be a disaster, with little incentive to go for the maximum, but in close games the team batting first often saves wickets to go for a big finish to their innings, and the chasing team will need to go for big shots if they’re set a challenging total.

Is there any Evening Racing tonight?

Tonight’s evening meeting is at Newcastle, starting at 4.50pm.

Favourites (75-79)

The Favourites market awards 25 points per SP favourite that wins a race, 10 for 2nd, 5 for 3rd and 0 for anywhere else. With five favourites of 5/2 or shorter – though none are odds on – there have been buyers in this market, which has a maximum make-up of 200 in this eight-race card. Oisin Murphy is favourite to be the top performing jockey.
