Spread Bets Of The Day

Top 5 Bets from the IPL Racing, Darts & Footy

Who’s playing in the IPL this afternoon?

It’s crunch time in the IPL as Rajasthan Royals take on Mumbai Indians in this afternoon’s IPL game. Both teams have two games left, and while Rajasthan know two wins will see them make the play-offs, the same cannot be said for Mumbai. The reigning champs could win both their remaining games and still not make it, but one thing’s for sure, both teams need to go all out to win this game or any hopes of making the play-offs will be left in tatters.

Multi-Flyer 41-46

Expect both teams to throw everything at it as they desperately seek victory. Those backing the batters to have a good day will be buying the Multi-Flyer spread at 41-46. This market multiplies the first over runs of both teams together, so to make a profit buying at 46, punters need at least something like 8 and 6 or 7 and 7 from the opening overs. The problem is, throwing the bat at everything is not always the way to win in the IPL, and of course if the first team to bat are skittled out cheaply, there won’t be any need for the team batting second to take any risks. Will bat dominate ball in this crucial encounter?

Is there any evening racing tonight?

Yes, the action from Kempton gets underway with the 4.58.

Squared Numbers 419-459

This market is made up by multiplying the racecard number of the winning horse by itself for each race, then adding up the totals. With some decent sized fields, there’s potential for this to be settled at a big number, but of course, buyers will be dreading any low numbers winnings, with any horse number 1 adding only 1 to the total, horse number 2 adding 4 etc. They would much prefer horses like Sense of Power, the favourite in the 2nd race that looks like going off around evens, to win, given a racecard number of 8 that would add 64.

Who’s playing in tonight’s World Grand Prix darts second round?

After last night’s fireworks, we’ll be hoping for more of the same as round 2 of the World Grand Prix starts in Leicester. There are four best-of-five sets games tonight, with the same again tomorrow night, as the players look for a place in the quarter-finals. Ryan Searle takes on Luke Humphries in the opener tonight, and Dave Chisnall faces Ross Smith to close the action. But it’s the two games in between that whet the appetite most, as The Machine, James Wade, takes on Stephen Bunting before reigning champion Gerwyn Price faces Mervyn King.

Price v King Multi-180s 10-12

There has been plenty of selling of the Multi-180s spread of 10-12, presumably from punters who expect Gerwyn Price to put this match to bed quickly, giving less opportunity to hit maximums. The Iceman to win 3-0 is 17/10 favourite for the correct score with Spreadex fixed odds, so this could be a short match, but Mervyn King has been around the block a few times and won’t go down without a fight. He actually beat Price in the semi-finals of the Masters earlier this season, and was runner-up in this event all the way back in 2012.

Total Missed Doubles 98-106

We pointed out yesterday we’d seen selling in the Spreadex Bankers market, which awards 25 points per win for the four named players, plus a 25 points bonus if they’re all victorious. Tonight’s four players are Chisnall, Wade, Price and Humphries, with the spread set at 64-68. However, it’s another of our specials we’ve seen money for tonight, the Total Missed Doubles. This event is famed for its ‘doubles away’ start, where each player must start every leg with a double. With the pressure rising will that lead to more doubles missed at both the start and end of legs? Or will there be some one-sided games that don’t see as many throws at doubles required?

Wealdstone v Solihull Moors

You can tell it’s international break when the live football come from the National League, as Wealdstone take on Solihull Moors. The visitors put a 5-1 thrashing at Dagenham & Redbridge behind them with a 2-0 defeat of Southend at the weekend, while Wealdstone conceded five themselves last time out, losing 5-0 to Torquay. Solihull did the double over Wealdstone last season and have started the season much better, sat eight places ahead of their hosts in 8th position of the National League.

Total Goal Minutes 128-138

We’ve seen plenty of buyer of Goal Minutes ahead of tonight’s game, and given both teams have been known to concede a goal or two, and Solihull bet Wealdstone 3-0 and 4-1 last season, it’s easy to see what’s attracting punters to that market. Matches at Wealdstone have proved tighter though, and before the 2-2 draw with Aldershot in their last home game, there was only one goal across the whole of the two previous two games in front of their own fans. Will there be goals galore or a tight tussle on BT Sport tonight?
