Top 5 bets in Friday's WC Qualifiers & World GP Darts

When is the Czech Republic v Wales World Cup qualifier?

Wales head into their crucial qualifier in Prague tonight in the midst of an injury crisis. Not only is their only world class star in Gareth Bale out, they’re missing defenders Ben Davies, Tom Lockyer and Rhys Norrington-Davies for a game manager Robert Page has called ‘must win’ if Wales are to lock up a play-off spot and finish second.

Tomas Soucek First Goal Scorer 9/1

Anyone who has seen the big midfielder play for West Ham know the goal threat carried by Tomas Soucek, and we’ve seen money for him to score first tonight at an industry-best 9/1. Soucek is a master of timing a late run into the box, and with Patrik Schick, so impressive in the Euros, occupying the patched up Wales defence, he could replicate that for the Czechs tonight.

Total Goal Minutes 112-122

While Robert Page is claiming this is a must-win game, a draw in the Czech Republic would do Wales no harm and still leave them with an excellent chance of claiming 2nd place in the group and a play-off spot. There are a number of ways of playing if punters see this game finishing goalless, but selling Total Goal Minutes means they would still win even if one goal is scored in what looks a tight encounter.

Are there any other World Cup qualifiers tonight?

There are 10 more just in Europe, the pick of which looks to be Germany against Romania.

Germany Win to Nil 4/5

Germany are developing a new style under Hansi Flick and it’s so far so good, with 12 goals scored and none conceded since the summer Euros. With the attacking flair and pace of Leroy Sane, Timo Werner and Kai Havertz, Germany should have too much for Romania, and with their recent solidity at the back, choosing Germany to win to nil has proved a popular option. This is still a team in transition and Romania will be the toughest opponents new manager Flick has faced, can Germany continue their winning run without conceding?

Who is in the semi-finals of the World Grand Prix darts?

World number 1 and defending champion Gerwyn Price thrashed Dave Chisnall in the quarter-finals 3-0 without ever getting out of first gear, and he is red hot favourite to retain this title. He’s not the only player in form though; Stephen Bunting, up next for Price, has been rolling back the years and playing some great darts, while Jonny Clayton is going for his third title of the season. The Premier League champ faces Danny Noppert for a place in the final. Noppert is playing the darts of his life, and hasn’t looked back since knocking out Michael van Gerwen in the first round.

Total Gerwyn Price Legs 12.8-13.3

The total leg spreads are interesting, as punters can end up losing if their player is too good, and that’s a danger with Gerwyn Price. To win a best-of-seven sets match, the Iceman needs to win 12 legs, but if he plays too well and wins every leg, buyers would lose in this market. They need Price to win some legs in sets he doesn’t win, ideally winning 4-3 and getting two legs in the three sets he doesn’t win for a make-up of 18. Price rolled over Dave Chisnall last night 3-0 without ever playing great darts. If he gets into top gear tonight, the buyers we’ve seen in the Price Legs market may suffer.

Most 180s Stephen Bunting 11/10

After Price failed to register one maximum yesterday – his opponent Dave Chisnall had 6 despite losing 3-0 – punters have been backing Bunting to win that match-up in tonight’s clash. Even if they don’t think the Bullet will win the match, Chizzy showed you can still dominate the Iceman in one area. Both players are 11/10 in this market, with the draw 11/2. If Price looks to switch to 19s a lot again, this could be a good bet, but Price is without doubt the best player in the world at the moment, and backing against him in any market takes what some would call bravery, others would call it stupidity!
