Spread Bets Of The Day
Chelsea, Brighton, Sheffield United and Wolves start their Premier League campaigns this Monday – but what should football spread betting punters be watching? It’s the Sports Spread Bets of the Day! What are the odds on Chelsea winning the title? With the most attention-grabbing signings of the summer window, a new-look Chelsea side rock up at Brighton this evening, at 8.15pm on Sky Sports Premier League. Given the transfer ban and his greenness in a top managerial role, Frank Lampard’s first season in charge of the Blues was something of a free pass. And, though there were some serious issues, overall he did well, shepherding the club to 4th place ahead of Leicester. This time out, however, more will be expected – even if Spreadex’s long-term prices suggest the club is heading for a similar result. Chelsea are at a Finishing Position spread of 3.75-4.25, alongside a Season Points spread of 72.5-74. That’s well off City and Liverpool on 88-89.5 and 85-86.5 respectively, and just ahead of Man United at 71-72.5. As for fixed odds, the Blues are at 9/1 – City, meanwhile, are odds on at 4/5. It is a fairly easy fixture for Chelsea to warm-up with, though they will be missing a few of their new faces, as Hakim Ziyech, Ben Chilwell and Thiago Silva are all either injured or lacking fitness. Extra pressure, then, on former Bundesliga boys Kai Havertz and Timo Werner to perform. What are the odds on Werner scoring against Brighton? The former RB Leipzig forward heads to the south coast at a Player Goal Minutes spread of 27-30, while the 21-year old Havertz is at 18-21 – the same price as Christian Pulisic. Hoping to steer clear of a relegation scrap – they are 7/2 to go down – the Seagulls have brought in a fair amount of players, including Adam Lallana. Looking to start his first Premier League game since December, the former Liverpool player is at a PGM spread of 4-7. Aiming for a statement of intent, the visitors sit at a Chelsea/Brighton (h) Goal Supremacy spread of 0.95-1.15, with a Total Goals spread of 2.75-2.95 and a Total Goal Minutes spread of 141-151. Where will Sheffield United finish this season?Surprising everyone last season, Sheffield United now have to do it all again in 2020/21. They start off with a visit from Wolves, at 6pm on Sky Sports Premier League. Spreadex has the Blades slipping down the table, but not as far as to be troubled by relegation, at a Finishing Position spread of 13-14.5, and a Season Points spread of 43.5-45. Their opponents – who were in the Sheffield spot a few years ago – are now established overachievers. But where will Wolves finish in 2020/21? They sit at a Finishing Position spread of 7.25-8.75, alongside a Season points spread of 56-57.5. That puts them ahead of the likes of Leicester and Everton, both of whom started strong this weekend. It’s an interesting one, then, with both teams needing to open with a bang. It could be close, but Spreadex are offering a Wolves/Sheffield United (h) Goal Supremacy spread of 0.05-0.25, with a low Total Goals spread of 1.85-2.05.
