As for pre-season friendlies, Liverpool have been one of the few Premier League sides to travel overseas, beating Stuttgart 3-0 before drawing 2-2 at Red Bull Salzburg. Arsenal have kept it more local, seeing off MK Dons 4-1 on Tuesday.

How many FA Community Shields have Liverpool won? Interestingly, both the Reds and Arsenal are currently tied on 15 FA Community Shield wins apiece – behind Man United on 21 – so Saturday will see a side decisively take 2nd place.

But when did Liverpool last win the Community Shield? All the way back in 2006, compared to Arsenal in 2017.
