Spread Bets Of The Day
Arsenal and Liverpool kick-off the 2020/21 season battling for the FA Community Shield – but what should football spread betters be watching out for? It’s the Sports Spread Bets of the Day! What channel is the FA Community Shield on?The Premier League champions and FA Cup winners meet at 4.30pm this Saturday, on BT Sport 1. Who is favourite to win the FA Community Shield? It is only 6 and a half weeks since these teams last met, as Arsenal helped deny Liverpool a record-breaking points tally with a 2-1 win at the Emirates. In the interim, the Reds have brought in 24-year old Greek left back Kostas Tsimikas from Olympiakos for £11.75 million, while offloading Dejan Lovren to Zenit Saint Petersburg for £10.9 million. Bayern Munich’s Thiago Alcantara, meanwhile, appears to be top of Klopp’s list. The Gunners secured one of the most eye-catching early signings, taking Willian off of Chelsea’s hands on a free transfer. They are also expected to confirm the signing of Brazilian centre-back Gabriel Magalhaes from Lille for £27 million. Most importantly, it looks like Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is staying at the club. As for pre-season friendlies, Liverpool have been one of the few Premier League sides to travel overseas, beating Stuttgart 3-0 before drawing 2-2 at Red Bull Salzburg. Arsenal have kept it more local, seeing off MK Dons 4-1 on Tuesday. How many FA Community Shields have Liverpool won? Interestingly, both the Reds and Arsenal are currently tied on 15 FA Community Shield wins apiece – behind Man United on 21 – so Saturday will see a side decisively take 2nd place. But when did Liverpool last win the Community Shield? All the way back in 2006, compared to Arsenal in 2017. Despite their loss in July, the Premier League champions are easy favourites to secure their 16th Shield, at a Liverpool/Arsenal Goal Supremacy spread of 0.85-1.05, alongside a Total Goals spread of 3.05-3.25. What are the odds on Mohamed Salah scoring against Arsenal? The weekend’s trip to Wembley will also see an early face-off between the 2020/21 Premier League season’s Golden Boot favourites. Spreadex is offering Aubameyang at a Player Season Goals spread of 18.5-20, 2nd only to Mohamed Salah at 20-22. The Egyptian ace is also at a Player Goal Minutes spread of 31-34 going into Saturday, notably ahead of its Gabonese counterpart at 18-21. It might also be worth keeping an eye on Rhian Brewster’s PGM spread of 15-18, given he has scored 3 of Liverpool’s 5 pre-season goals. What are the odds on Liverpool winning the Premier League? If they do win the FA Community Shield, Liverpool will be hoping it’ll boost their odds on retaining the title. Because at the moment Spreadex has them on a Premier League Points spread of 85.5-87 to Man City’s 89.5-91, with a Binary To Win League spread of 26.6-32.3 to City’s confident 52.3-60. And what are the odds on Arsenal winning the Premier League? They’re a long shot, at a Premier League Points spread of 62.5-64 – that’d see them in 5th place – and a Premier League Index spread of 3-6. Disclaimer: quoted prices are subject to change.
