Sports Update

Cricket

The Champions Trophy begins today (Thursday) with India and South Africa currently in action in Cardiff and Pakistan playing the West Indies at the Oval.

England’s campaign gets underway on Saturday against Australia at Edgbaston. Will England rise to the occasion after beating New Zealand yesterday thanks partly to Jos Buttler’s swashbuckling unbeaten 47 from just 16 balls?

Our prices have an England win at 4/5, with Australia at even money 

Our Group A Index gives 25 points to the group winner, 10 for runner-up and 5 for third. England and Australia’s quotes are both 10.5-12 with Sri Lanka at 8-9.5 and New Zealand 7-8.5.

Rugby

The British Lions continue their warm up to the first Test against the Wallabies on June 22nd by facing the Queensland Reds in Brisbane on Saturday.

After romping to a 69-17 win over an under-strength Western Force side yesterday, Warren Gatland’s men are sure to face a tougher test during their latest encounter.

For the first Test proper later in the month, our Supremacy quote is Lions/Australia 2-5.

Football

With the European domestic seasons at an end our interest now turns to youth football and the U21 Championship in particular.

The action got under way last night (Wednesday) as England lost 1-0 to Italy. Tonight’s action sees Spain take on Russia and Holland face Germany. We have defending champions Spain as favourites in their match with a Supremacy quote of SpainU21/RussiaU21 0.95-1.15.

In the second encounters we have both the Netherlands and Germany at 13/8 for the win with the draw 9/4.

Tomorrow night sees a host of World Cup qualifiers taking place including Croatia v Scotland, Republic of Ireland v Faroe Islands, Portugal v Russia and Argentina v Colombia.

Tennis

We are approaching the business end of the French Open now as we enter the semi-final stages.
 

The Azarenka v Sharapova match is already underway and at 4pm Serena Williams takes on Sara Errani.  Will Serena edge closer to a second French Open title? We have her at 1/16 for the victory with Errani at 8/1.
 

The men’s semi-finals get underway tomorrow at 12pm as David Ferrer and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga battle for a place in the final. Our Supremacy quote here is Ferrer/Tsonga 1.5-4.5. Novak

Djokovic and Rafael Nadal will challenge each other to see who will face the winner of that match. Djokovic is currently 7/5 for the win with Nadal at 4/7.

Darts

The UK Open gets underway tonight (Thursday) with a number of tasty clashes to look forward to such as Vincent van der Voort v Andy Murray (Vander Voort/Murray 11.5-14.5) and Ireland’s Conan Whitehead against the Netherland’s Roland Scholten (Scholten/Whitehead 7.5-10.5).

Racing comes from Canada this week with Nico Rosberg looking to build on his success in Monaco last time out. He’s currently 3.5-5 on our Live Index, with the favourite being Sebastion Vettel at 8.5-10. Lewis Hamilton leads the British charge with a quote of 5-6.5.

Vettel and Alonso lead the way in the Driver’s Championship with fixed odds quotes of 4/5 and 2/1 respectivley. We also have Raikkonen at 7/1, Hamilton at 20/1 and Button 100/1.

Golf


The US Tour this week comes from TPC Southwind in Memphis for the St. Jude Classic. Tennessee native Scott Stallings is coming off back-to-back top five finishes. Will he triumph here? There will be strong opposition from Phil Mickelson, Brandt Snedeker and Dustin Johnson for sure.

The Lyoness Open in Atzenbrugg, Austria is the latest stop on the European tour. Bernd Wiesberger leads the way in the betting followed by Pablo Larrazabal and Miguel Angel Jimenez.
