Sports Update

Football

A dramatic final day in the Championship last week has set up a couple of tantalising matches in this year’s play-offs. The action gets underway this evening (Thursday) as Watford, who missed out on automatic promotion by failing to beat Leeds, take on a Leicester side that sneaked into the play-off places with a victory over Forest. Our Supremacy quote here is Leicester/Watford 0.3-0.5.

Tomorrow (Friday) Ian Holloway’s Crystal Palace host Brighton. We are currently quoting the Seagulls at 15/8 for the win with the Eagles at 6/4 and the draw 11/5.

Aston Villa and Chelsea meet in Saturday’s only league match at 12:45pm. 10 Goals have been scored in Villa’s last two matches. Will this game see more goals flowing? Our Total Goals quote is currently 2.9-3.1.

Man City and Wigan turn their focus to the FA Cup final at 5.15pm as both sides hope to put a piece of silverware in their trophy cabinet . Can the Citizens secure a sixth cup success or will Roberto Martinez land Wigan’s first? Our Supremacy price is Man City/Wigan 1.5-1.7.

At 1.30pm on Sunday, Stoke host a Spurs side whose Champions League destiny is no longer in their own hands. Can they keep up the pressure on Arsenal and Chelsea? We’re quoting them at 10/11 for the victory with Stoke at 3/1 and the draw 12/5.

There are five 3pm Sunday fixtures this week, with matches including: Everton v West Ham (Eve/WHU 1.05-1.25), Fulham v Liverpool (Liv/Ful 0.35-0.55), Norwich v WBA (Nor/WBA 0.3-0.5), QPR v Newcastle (New/QPR 0.15-0.35) and Sunderland v Southampton (Sun/Sou 0-0.2).

In the final game of the weekend Man Utd take on League Cup winners Swansea at 4pm. Will Alex Ferguson end his reign at Old Trafford in style? Our fixed odds prices see Man Utd at 2/7 for the win, with Swansea at 9/1 and the draw 9/2.

Golf

The US Tour this week comes from TPC Sawgrass at Ponte Vedra Beach Florida for the Players Championship and we will be trading both the Leaderboard and Finishing Positions markets in-running.

The big names have often struggled here in the past with Tiger Woods chalking up just one victory. There has also never been a back-to-back Champion in this tournament – so can current holder Matt Kuchar break this hoodoo?

We have him at 33/1 to retain his title.

Leading the way in the betting, however, are Tiger, Rory McIlroy, Luke Donald and Adam Scott.

In the Aviva Premiership the first semi-final gets underway on Saturday as Leicester battle Harlequins. The Tigers are bidding to reach a ninth successive final. Will they be successful? Leicester/Quinns 6-9.
