Sports Update

Football

It’s the conclusion of the Premier League season on Sunday, and as the title and relegation places are already decided, the battle between Arsenal and Tottenham for fourth place will take centre stage.

Spurs need victory against Sunderland (Spurs/Sunderland 1.6 -1.8, Spurs 2/7, Sunderland 9/1, draw 17/4) and have to hope the Gunners will slip up at Newcastle (Arsenal/Newcastle (h) 1 - 1.2, Arsenal 8/15, Newcastle 5/1, Draw 3/1).

There is also the possibility of an unusual scenario of a third-fourth place play-off. If Arsenal win by a single goal and Chelsea draw against Everton, scoring two goals less than Arsenal then both sides will have identical end of season records and will need to play an extra game at a neutral venue. (Chelsea/Everton 0.9-1.1, Chelsea 8/13, Everton 9/2, draw 11/4).

So for example, a £10 double on Chelsea to draw 0-0 (11/1) and Arsenal to win 2-1 (6/1) will return £840 should the scenario unfold or a £10 double on Chelsea to draw 1-1 (13/2) and Arsenal to win 3-2 (14/1) returns £1,125 – and don’t forget you can now place accumulators and multiples via your mobile with Spreadex!

The seven other fixtures are: Liverpool v QPR (Liv/QPR 1.9-2.1), Man City v Norwich (Man/Nor 1.6-1.8), Southampton v Stoke (Sou/Sto 0.6-0.8), Swansea v Fulham (Swa/Ful 0.5-0.7), West Brom v Man Utd (Man U/WBA 0.65-0.85), West Ham v Reading (WHU/Rea 0.85-1.05) and Wigan v Aston Villa (Wigan/Ast 0.2-0.4).

Remember, it’s the Copa del Rey final tomorrow night (Friday) with Real Madrid strong favourites over Atletico Madrid (Real/Atletico 1-1.2, Real 8/15, Atletico 9/2 and the draw 3/1). It’s almost as one sided as the pre-match odds for last week’s FA Cup final – and we all know what happened then!

Rugby

The main action this week is on Saturday as Clermont go head-to-head with Toulon in the Heineken Cup Final. This is the first time either side have reached the final so there will be a new name on European club rugby’s most coveted piece of silverware. When these sides met in the Top 14 it ended 26-26. We have Clermont/Toulon Point Supremacy 2-5, Clermont 8/13, Toulon 6/4 and the draw 16/1.

Ahead of that, on Friday, Leinster and Stade Francais contest the Amlin Challenge Cup final. Can Leinster make it four European titles in five years or will the French side be the ones celebrating? We have Joe Schmidt’s team strong favourites at 2/11 for the win with Stade Francais Paris 15/4 and the draw 25/1.

Switching codes to rugby league, this weekend’s Super League action gets underway on Friday as Warrington host Hull FC. The Wolves have triumphed in the last three meetings between these two. Can they make it four in a row? Our Supremacy quote is Warrington/Hull FC 12-15.

We will also be covering the rest of the weekend’s action in the Super League, NRL and Super Rugby.

Cricket

The action is currently underway at Lord’s as England take on New Zealand in the first Test of the series. We will of course have in-running prices on the game as Alastair Cook’s side hopes to make amends for an unconvincing show in the last series against the visitors.

We will also have on-going coverage of the Indian Premier League. Today’s game sees Punjab taking on Delhi and our Supremacy quote is currently: Punjab/Delhi 6-14.

Darts

We have reached the business end of the competition in the darts as we head to the O2 in London for the semi-finals and final of this year’s Premier League.

The first play-off sees Michael van Gerwen taking on James Wade, our Total 180’s quote is currently 7-7.5.

The second match is between Raymond van Barneveld and Phil Taylor, where our 10-3 Supremacy quote is Taylor/Barney 6.5-9.5.

F1

There may be no racing this week, but now the season is developing what better time to look at our long term markets?

Vettel and Alonso lead the way in the Driver’s Championship with quotes of 40-43. We also have Raikkonen at 33-36, Hamilton at 9-12 and Button 4-6.

In the Constructors Championship Red Bull are out in front with a quote of 35-38, with Ferrari 34-37, Lotus 22-25 and Mercedes 10-13.

Golf

The US Tour this week comes from the TPC Four Seasons Resort in Irving Texas for the Byron Nelson Championship. Jason Day has a win and two top-ten finishes here in his last three starts. He leads the way in the betting, but is closely followed by the likes of Matt Kucher, Charl Schwartzel and Keegan Bradley.

The Madeira Islands Open in Portugal is the venue for the latest stop on the European tour. Ricardo Santos defends the title he won last year, but faces competition from Simon Dryson, Robert-Jan Derksen and Peter Uihlein to name a few.
