How many times have Man Utd won the Europa League?

Aiming to cap off a season that has gone better than many had forecast, Man United are chasing their 2nd ever Europa League when they take on Villarreal in Gdansk at 8pm on BT Sport 1 this Wednesday.

Turning things around after being dumped out of the group stages of the Champions League, United have knocked out Real Sociedad, AV Milan, Granada and Roma en route to the final.

The Spaniards, meanwhile, are yet to lose a game in the competition, escaping the group stages unbeaten before bypassing Red Bull Salzburg, Dynamo Kiev, Dinamo Zagreb and Arsenal.

It makes sense when you consider their manager is Unai Emery, the man who won the Europa League 3 season in a row with Sevilla and took the Gunners to the final in 2018/19.

Despite Emery’s storied history in the competition, United are still heading into Wednesday night as favourites.

Spreadex is offering a Man United/Villarreal Goal Supremacy spread of 0.6-0.8, with a Total Goals spread of 2.4-2.6 and a low Total Goal Minutes spread of 122-132. United are also at match odds of 5/6 to the Spaniards’ 7/2.

As for their odds on winning the trophy fullstop, United are even stronger favourites, odds on at 2/5 compared to Villarreal at 15/8.
