PL Final Day - Leicester v Tottenham, Aston Villa v Chelsea, What Happens Next?

Aston Villa send in a hopeful-looking cross into the Spurs box with seemingly little danger – What Happens Next?

Spread Bets of the Weekend

1. Leicester v Tottenham – 4pm Sunday, Sky Sports Football
With Leicester dropping outside of the top 4 for the first time this season after their defeat to Chelsea, it feels like a case of deja-vu for the Foxes – who missed out in similar circumstances last season.

The home side know that they must win here with a multi-goal swing, and hope that Liverpool drop points to Crystal Palace (or Chelsea slip up against Aston Villa), while a demoralised Tottenham will know that they also need a result to ensure they aren’t overtaken at the final hurdle also by teams behind them vying for a Europa League place – including their bitter rivals Arsenal.

With Leicester the better team currently, Spreadex are favouring the Foxes to get the job done and get the 3 points here, with match odds of Leicester at Evens against Tottenham’s 9/4. Spreadex are also offering a Leicester/Tottenham Goal Supremacy spread of 0.35-0.55, and a Total Goal Minutes spread of 150-160.

2. Aston Villa v Chelsea – 4pm Sunday, Sky Sports Action
Although their home win against Leicester has put Chelsea in a great position to secure 3rd place, the Blues will know that disaster could also strike. If they were to lose at Villa Park, both Leicester and Liverpool could overtake the London side and grab the remaining Champions League places.

With a Champions League final on the horizon also in less than 10 days, it may be a consideration of resting certain players for Thomas Tuchel, although this would be a huge risk considering the potential magnitude of this match. Villa are also full of confidence after their win at Spurs, and will be fired up to end their season with a positive result in front of their (now returning) fans.

Nevertheless, Spreadex are making the away side solid favourites, with a Chelsea/Aston Villa(h) Goal Supremacy spread of 1.1-1.3 available, and match odds of Chelsea at 1/2 to Villa’s 11/2.

3. Liverpool v Crystal Palace – 4pm Sunday, Sky Sports Main Event
After a storming run of recent form and a host of crucial victories and overcoming adversity, Liverpool are back in the top 4 going into the last round of fixtures, and arguably have the most enviable assignment of all teams around them.

Playing at Anfield in front of a crowd and facing a side with nothing to play for and an outgoing manager will likely be a dream scenario for Jurgen Klopp and his side, and on paper it would seem that a comfortable Liverpool win is a formality. With their Champions League fate fully in their own hands, last season’s champions will be surely looking forward to this one.

The home side are huge favourites with Spreadex, with a Liverpool/Crystal Palace Goal Supremacy spread of 2.15-2.35 on offer, alongside a Total Goals spread of 3.4-3.6 and a Total Goal Minutes spread of 172-187.
