Weekend's Big Winning Bets

weekends-big-winning-bets-11072022-landing-page-header

It was a superb sporting weekend and there was drama everywhere you looked. The Northern Hemisphere sides fought back in their respective series’ claiming a clean sweep to set up a thrilling final day next weekend.

In cricket, England lost 2-1 against India in their T20 series and domestically, Somerset and Lancashire will join Yorkshire and Hampshire at Finals Day next weekend.

In the north-east Toulouse recorded a vital victory over Wakefield at Magic Weekend and in south-west London Novak Djokovic once again tasted victory on the hallowed turf of Centre Court as he beat Nick Kyrgios in four sets.

Charles Leclerc won the Austrian Grand Prix and there was plenty of high-quality racing taking place on Super Saturday. With so much going on, we have dug through the scores and results to find three big winning spread markets from the weekend.

Please remember that unlike fixed odds betting, when spread betting losses can exceed deposits.

NEWMARKET FRIDAY 8th JULY – INSPIRAL BINARY MARKET (SETTLED AT 0)

Super Saturday was a treat for all racing fans with electric action all over the country as Goodwood, Newmarket and York took centre stage. However, one of the biggest talking points over the last few days came on Friday in the 15:35 at Newmarket.

Having blitzed through the field at Royal Ascot, Inspiral was expected to be far and away the best in a field of five on Friday in the Falmouth Stakes, and having been supported into 1/7, defeat seemed out of the question.

However, nothing is straightforward and Sandrine was the early pacesetter with both Inspiral and Prosperous Voyage struggling to pass. With over one furlong to go Dettori had managed to get the warm favourite to the front, but his mount couldn’t stay on as Prosperous Voyage came back to win by 1 ¾ lengths.

It was certainly a big shock, but sellers on the Binary Market will have been roaring with delight at their inspired sell. The Inspiral Binary Market was 83.3-85.8 and sellers walked away with a full win of 83.3x their stake.

SOUTH AFRICA v WALES – MATCH MULTI-POINTS (SETTLED AT 114)

Wales made history on Saturday in Bloemfontein when they managed to win on South African soil against the Springboks for the first time in their history. Josh Adams’ try in the 78th minute heaped the pressure onto Gareth Anscombe who nailed his touchline conversion to secure a famous victory for Wayne Pivac’s side.

South Africa had made 14 changes from their 32-29 win over Wales in the previous week and it certainly backfired with the World Champions lacking their usual fluency. They managed four tries against Wales in the first match of the series, but they failed to cross for a single score at the weekend, their 12 points coming from the boot of Handre Pollard.

The Welsh were not the only ones celebrating on Saturday though, with sellers coming out well on top in both the Cross-Points and Multi-Points market, though the bigger win came in the latter. Before the match the spread was set at 701-753 and with 19 second-half points following six in the first, the market settled at 114.

Sellers, therefore, landed a win of 587x their stake.

SOMERSET v DERBYSHIRE FALCONS – SOMERSET PERFORMANCE  (SETTLED AT 770)

Saturday evening saw two T20 Blast records fall in Taunton as Somerset destroyed Derbyshire Falcons to take their place at Finals Day for the eighth time.

The hosts batted first and annihilated the Falcons’ bowling attack as they blasted their way to a domestic T20 record score of 265-5 with, Rilee Rossouw smashing 93 runs and Tom Banton 73. Only George Scrimshaw who produced figures of 2-16 in his four overs can claim a decent bowling performance in a Derbyshire shirt.

It then went from bad to worse for the Falcons as Peter Siddle and Ben Green ripped through their batting line-up to bowl them all out for 74 after 11.2 overs. Somerset’s 191-run victory is the biggest in T20 Blast history.

The Performance market awards 25 points for every 6, 10 points for every 4, 100 points if a side wins the match, and 50 if the match is tied. Should a batsman depart without scoring, 50 will be deducted from the total. With no ducks, 22 fours, 18 sixes, and the match win, Somerset’s Performance settled at 770.

Before play, the spread was 400-430 as buyers landed a win of 340x their initial stake.

Please note that these are examples of winning bets from the past week, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit.
