Timo Werner looks to be in a great position to tap in an easy goal for Germany - What Happens Next?

FOOTBALL

Wave goodbye to the international break and welcome back one of the most hotly anticipated weekends of Premier League football in recent memory.

The transfer window closed while the players were away with their countries, and while plenty of teams will be welcoming new recruits this weekend, it’s all about one man who is more returning hero than new boy….Ronaldo is back!

Manchester United’s game with Newcastle has become the most talked about fixture as the Portuguese superstar, fresh from a couple of goals for his country against Ireland in the break, is set to make his second Manchester United debut, more than 18 years after his first.

Don’t forget Spreadex is best odds guaranteed on Manchester United v Newcastle, and all Premier League fixtures.

What odds are Manchester United to beat Newcastle?
Ronaldo’s Reds are now best price 2/9 with Spreadex to defeat a sorry Newcastle side boasting just one point from their three games so far.

In fact, Newcastle’s slow start has seen one of the biggest changes in Spreadex’s Total Points Spreads since the start of the season. The Magpies’ season points spread has dropped from 39.5-41 to 35-36.5, meaning they’re expected to get 4.5 points less than they were when the season kicked off.

Worse news for Toon fans, the good start made by Brentford, whose spread has risen from 36-37.5 to 40.5-42, means Newcastle are now expected to finish in the bottom three. Ronaldo’s arrival, coupled with a decent start of seven points from nine, has seen Manchester United’s point spread rise, from 73-74.5 to 76.5-78.

Which teams will finish in the Premier League top 4?
United are still predicted to finish 4th - in fact the whole top 4 remains in the same order, City, Chelsea, Liverpool, United - but, despite back-to-back 5-0 wins, Manchester City’s spread has fallen slightly and they are now expected to be pushed much harder by Chelsea for the title.

At the start of the season City’s spread was 10.5 points higher than their nearest rivals, but that has now fallen to just four.
Nowhere has the start to the season been more contrasted than in North London, with Tottenham standing top of the league with maximum points after three games, and Arsenal bottom with minimum!

The Gunners were expected to get two points more than Spurs at the start of the season, but are now expected to get 10 less. Tottenham’s spread has risen from 58.5-60 to 64-65.5, while Arsenal’s has fallen from 60.5-62 to 54.5-56.
Spurs feature in the early game on Saturday as we herald the return of the Premier League with a London derby at Crystal Palace.

The Premier League leaders are best price evens with Spreadex to make it four wins in four, though former Gunners hero Patrick Vieira, still finding his feet as a manager, will be determined to inspire his Palace charges, best price 17/5 with Spreadex, to victory.

Arsenal are best price 8/15 with Spreadex to get their first three points of the season at home to Norwich, though all eyes at 3pm will be on Old Trafford and the return of you know who.

Chelsea (3/10) face Aston Villa (12/1) in the Saturday evening game, while Leeds (7/2) host Liverpool (3/4) on Sunday before Spreadex sponsored Burnley travel to Goodison Park for Monday Night Football.
Everton are 4/5 to take the three points, while the Clarets are 4/1 for the win, all best price with Spreadex.

HORSE RACING

Which horse will win the St Leger?
Away from football, the final British Classic of the racing season takes place at Doncaster, with the St Leger due off at 3.35pm.

The ultimate test for three-year-olds, first run in 1776, has been the property of the O’Brien family of late, with Joseph winning last year following his father Aidan’s two victories in the last four. This year it looks likely that Godolphin’s Hurricane Lane will go off as odds-on favourite.

As well as the culmination of the St Leger meeting, there’s action from Chester, Bath, Lingfield and Musselburgh as well as at Punchestown in Ireland. Don’t forget you can watch all the action via our new expanded live streaming that now includes all UK and Irish racing as well as tracks from the US, South Africa, Australia and Europe.
