Who will win the London Derby? Plus Liverpool v Burnley, Soton v Man Utd, What Happens Next? and more

Accrington Stanley's Joe Pritchard takes on a speculative long shot with seemingly little danger - What Happens Next?

who will win the london derby?

arsenal v chelsea, sunday 4.30pm sky sports PL

After a hugely disappointing performance and result for the Gunners against Premier League new boys Brentford in the season curtain-raiser, they will be looking to please the Emirates crowd by bouncing back against London rivals Chelsea, who in comparison started their season with a dominating victory over Crystal Palace, and riding the confidence of their recent UEFA Super Cup victory.

Arsenal may find their job harder due to the absences of Pierre Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette through positive COVID tests, but the Gunners did achieve an unexpected victory in the last H2H league meeting at the Emirates, winning 3-1. In fact, Arsenal have won the last 3 league meetings between these sides, with Chelsea last picking up 3 points at the Emirates with a 2-1 victory in December 2019. They also beat Arsenal by the same scoreline in a pre-season friendly most recently.

The Blues will go into this match as favourites, with an opening pre-match Goal Supremacy spread of Chelsea/Arsenal (h) at 0.65-0.85, along with Total Goals at 2.4-2.6 and TGMs at 123-133. On the fixed odds, we have Arsenal at 4/1 to be victorious, with the Draw at 3/1 and Chelsea favoured at 4/5.

On the #NAMEIT markets, we have Bukayo Saka & Romelu Lukaku Both To Score at 9/1, and Chelsea to win 2-1 is at 7/1.

THE OTHER WEEKEND ACTION

LIVERPOOL V BURNLEY, SATURDAY 12.30PM BT SPORT 1

The 2019/20 Champions will look to build on their strong start to the season with another confident victory, this time in front of a full Kop, which of course brought the Reds so much success and motivation in recent years. The first visiting side of the season will be Burnley - the side who of course ended Liverpool's long unbeaten home run last season.

After a disappointing defeat albeit a strong start in their opening league match, the Clarets will be looking to frustrate Liverpool once again - and perhaps springing another huge shock.

The home side will go into this match as heavy favourites, with an opening pre-match Goal Supremacy spread of Liverpool/Burnley at 1.85-2.05 along with Total Goals at 3.1-3.3 and TGMs at 158-168. On the fixed odds, we have Liverpool at 2/9, with the Draw at 13/2 and Burnley at long odds of 16/1. Remember - Spreadex will always have best odds on Burnley matches!

MAN CITY V NORWICH, SATURDAY 3PM

Man City's shaky form continued in their opening league match, losing 1-0 to Spurs and further showing signs that they are missing a central striker. City have now failed to score in their last 3 major matches, from the final of the Champions League, the recent Community Shield, and their match against Spurs.

Newly-promoted Norwich are likely a team that Pep Guardiola will be happy to face, with the Champions likely to monopolise possession and have plenty of chances. To that end, the last H2H in the league ended with a 5-0 victory for City at home, in Norwich's last PL campaign before their relegation and subsequent re-promotion.

The home side will go into this match as huge favourites and with an exciting game expected, with an opening pre-match Goal Supremacy spread of City/Norwich at 2.5-2.7 along with Total Goals at 3.6-3.8 and TGMs at 180-195. On the fixed odds, we have City at 1/8, with the Draw at 10/1 and Norwich at long odds of 28/1!

SOUTHAMPTON V MAN UTD, SUNDAY 2PM SKY SPORTS PL

After an opening day demolition of Leeds at Old Trafford, Utd will be on the road - circumstances which brought them major success last season. Utd achieved the feat of being only the third different club to go unbeaten away in an English top-flight campaign since the start of 1888/89. The success was in part due to a club-record ten penalty goals in a single PL season, and they’ve also netted a spot-kick in three of their last four away league wins, with two of those conversions proving decisive.

Southampton started their campaign with a 3-1 defeat away at Everton, and there are surely some concerns around their goalscoring this season with the loss of star striker Danny Ings to Aston Villa.

The away side will travel as favourites, with an opening pre-match Goal Supremacy spread of Man Utd/Soton (h) at 0.9-1.1 along with Total Goals at 2.8-3 and TGMs at 143-153. Penalty Goal Mins are available at 14-17. On the fixed odds, we have Soton at 24/5, with the Draw at 17/5 and Utd at odds of 13/20.
