Brentford are on the attack once more as they are running riot in the Carabao Cup, and are about to put a speculative-looking cross into the box - What Happens Next?
Finally, after a Covid-related extra long wait, the Ryder Cup is underway at Whistling Straits in Wisconsin. Not for the first time, the Americans started out as big favourites, Spreadex went 4/9 USA, 21/10 Europe. The USA 12-man team contains eight of the world’s top 10. Europe have only one, though granted Jon Rahm is top of the lot, with Viktor Hovland their second ranked player at 14. This kind of uphill task is not new to Team Europe, who have won seven of the past nine Ryder Cups, a unified team often beating a collection of star individuals.Friday and Saturday both follow the same format, with four foursomes in the morning, and four fourballs in the afternoon, before the 12 singles games on Sunday. The home team have come out on top in the foursomes in the past six Ryder Cups, but it’s proved a lot more volatile in terms of scores.Team Europe have won this format 6-2 and 7-1 the past two times the tournament was held on this side of the pond, Team USA winning 5.5-2.5 in between. In the past six Ryder Cups the biggest advantage either team has gained in fourballs is two points, Team USA winning 5-3 in both 2012 and 2014. Indeed, three of the past five Ryder Cups have seen the points split 4-4 in fourballs. Our Day 2 spreads see Team USA expected to win 31.5-33.5 holes on Saturday, with Team Europe expected to win 28.5-30.5.Day 2 Stop at a USA Win, which awards 10 points per match until they win a match, is set at 20-22.5, with the same market for Team Europe 23.5-26.Our markets will be constantly updated over Ryder Cup weekend and with the Sunday singles not due to get underway until just after 5pm, there’s plenty of time to get your fixed odds and spread bets on.Click here to see all our latest Golf spread betting and Golf fixed odds betting prices. Premier League action kicks-off this weekend with the match of the season so far as the two favourites for the title meet at Stamford Bridge. Spreadex fixed odds have City as title favourites at 17/10 just ahead of Chelsea at 2/1, and their Premier League finishing position spreads are City 1.85-2.05 and Chelsea 2.05-2.35. In terms of Premier League Points, City edge that too, 84.5-86, with Chelsea’s spread at 83-84.5. All that could change this weekend.
Looking ahead to Saturday’s game, the London side’s home advantage means the teams can’t be split, with the winning margin in goals set at -0.1-0.1. In the 100:0 team to win market, which awards 100 to the winning team and 0 for a draw or loss, both the Chelsea and City to win spreads are set at 31.2-35.8. The Match to be Drawn spread is set at 26.6-30.4.Chelsea and City are both 7/4 with Spreadex fixed odds. Remember, Spreadex is best price for every game in the Premier League.
Sunday sees the first North London derby of what has already been a rollercoaster season. Three games into it, Tottenham fans were loving life almost as much as Arsenal supporters were hating it. Spurs were top of the table having won all three games, while the Gunners were bottom having lost all three.
As the league paused for the international break, Spreadex updated our season points index, and having been expected to get two points more than Spurs at the start of the season, that was revised to an expectation of 10 less than their rivals. Tottenham’s spread had risen from 58.5-60 to 64-65.5, while Arsenal’s fell from 60.5-62 to 54.5-56.
That international break has halted momentum on both sides however, Spurs having lost both subsequent games 3-0, and Arsenal having won both 1-0. The points spreads have moved again; Tottenham have been revised down to 60-61.5 and Arsenal up to 57-58.5.
Homing in specifically on this game, Arsenal are 13/10 favourites, with Spurs 12/5 – remember, Spreadex fixed odds is guaranteed best price all Premier League games. Given that these sides are well matched, and plenty of players are more effort than skill, it might be that the atmosphere of a North London derby drives the players to overstep the line, and the booking markets are interesting.
The Bookings spread is set at 52-56, with Multi-Bookings 585-685 and Cross-Bookings 715-815. Remember, booking points are made up of 10 for a yellow card and 25 for a red. Multi-Bookings multiplies Arsenal booking points by Tottenham’s, while Cross-Bookings multiplies total first half booking points by total second half.Click here to see all our latest Football spread betting and Football fixed odds betting prices. The big race of the weekend is the Cambridgeshire at Newmarket, the first half of the Autumn Double (the Cesarewitch is the second half, held at the same course in two weeks’ time). Open to thoroughbred horses aged three and run over a distance of a mile and furlong, there’s usually at least 30 top milers charging up the Rowley Mile. Both the Cambridgeshire and Cesarewitch were first run in 1839. Uncle Bryn looks likely to go off as favourite in a wide-open race.Click here to see all our latest Horse Racing spread betting and Horse Racing fixed odds betting prices. It may not be the fight we all wanted and maybe expected to be watching, but Anthony Joshua’s world heavyweight title defence against fellow Olympic gold medallist Oleksandr Usyk has the makings of a decent dust up. Cruiserweight king Usyk is unbeaten, though this is only his third fight at this weight, and the worry is he lacks the power to hurt AJ. Joshua is 4/11 favourite to inflict Usyk’s first defeat, with the Ukrainian 9/4.
On the spreads, the fight length is set at 25.5-27 in the Fight Minutes market. Joshua rates Usyk as his second hardest fight ever, only behind Wladimir Klitschko, but a full house at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium will be roaring the Brit on, if only so one day soon we get to see him in the ring with Tyson Fury.Click here to see all our latest Boxing spread betting and Boxing fixed odds betting prices. Hull KR are big underdogs to pull off a shock at Warrington Wolves in the Super League play-off eliminator, but the Robins have been the surprise team of the season. After finishing bottom last season, KR claimed a play-off spot for the first time since 2013 with a sixth-place finish, their reward being a trip to Warrington to take on the Wolves.
Warrington have reached four Grand Finals in the past nine years, and go into this game 1/7 favourites, with KR 9/2 outsiders. On the spreads, the Total Points are set at 40-43, with the 1st Match Try at 11.5-13.5 and Total Tries set at 6.9-7.4.Click here to see all our latest Rugby League spread betting and Rugby League fixed odds betting prices. The F1 season got extra spicy with the huge crash between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen at Monza a fortnight ago. With eight races remaining, Verstappen holds a five-point lead, but we can’t split them – Spreadex goes 10/11 each of two for the title. Hamilton is 1/2 favourite for victory in Sochi with Mercedes teammate Valtteri Bottas 7/2 and Verstappen 9/2. In our Live index, Hamilton’s spread is 16.5-18, Bottas 7.5-9 and Verstappen 6-7.5.
