Man City v Arsenal and Liverpool v Chelsea betting previews. Plus What Happens Next? and more

Marc Marquez is in qualifying for this weekend's British Moto GP at Silverstone, but what happens next?

WHEN DID ARSENAL LAST LOSE THEIR OPENING THREE TOP FLIGHT GAMES?

MAN CITY v ARSENAL, SATURDAY 12.30pm BT SPORT 1

It’s a sign just how far Arsenal have fallen behind the big boys that they are the biggest outsiders in any Premier League game this weekend. Manchester City are rated 1.7-1.9 goals better than the Gunners on Spreadex’s Goal Supremacy Index and Arsenal are a massive 12/1 to win at the Etihad if fixed odds is more your thing.

Goals are expected (the 3.05-3.25 Total Goals is the highest of any game), the problem for Gunners fans, who have seen their team lose both Premier League games this season and their last 8 to City in total, is that they’re expected to end up in the back of the Arsenal net. Optimistic Gooners won’t find Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, fresh from a midweek hat-trick, 10/1 to be first goalscorer very often though.

Mikel Arteta will desperate to avoid a third straight league defeat. So just when did Arsenal last lose their opening three fixtures in a row in the top flight? Way back in 1954-55!

LIVERPOOL v CHELSEA - IT's ALMOST TOO CLOSE TOO CALL

LIVERPOOL V CHELSEA, SATURDAY 5.30PM SKY SPORTS PREMIER LEAGUE

Only one game – Newcastle v Southampton at 0-0.2 – is seen as closer than the weekend’s biggest game, when Liverpool welcome Chelsea to Anfield. The Reds are rated 0.05-0.25 goals better than the Blues on the Goal Supremacy Index, with 2.45-2.65 goals expected. Unsurprisingly it’s close to pick ‘em in terms of fixed odds, Liverpool (8/5) slight favourites to beat Chelsea (2/1).

Over this weekend’s 10 games, 27-27.9 goals are expected, with the first expected after 4.5-5.5 minutes.
