Best Bets from the EURO 2020 final, plus What Happens Next? and more

The UFC trilogy fight between Dustin Poirier and Conor McGregor is in the first round with both men having moments of success - What Happens Next?

BEST BETS FROM EURO 2020 FINAL

It was ultimately a night of huge disappointment for the England players and all the fans, with the Three Lions having to settle for an extended wait for their next major title after the sole World Cup victory in 1966. An almost-full Wembley could not quite inspire England to get over the line in the lottery of the penalty shootout, and the cup will be 'going to Rome' with an Italy side who are now just one short of a World Record achievement of 35 matches undefeated, and Roberto Mancini's side completing an incredible turnaround after failing to even qualify for the 2018 World Cup.

Although it was a night of failed expectations, there was still plenty of money to be made for punters, and we highlight some of the best spread bets from last night and just how much you could have won!

TOTAL GOAL MINUTES - SETTLED AT 69

After England had kicked off the final with a lightning-quick start from Luke Shaw's second minute goal, punters may have been expecting a higher-scoring match than might have been predicted, but there would only be one more goal in the match, leading to a fairly low TGM total of 69. With the pre-match spread at 98-108, punters who decided to sell would have been left with a tidy profit of 29x their opening wager.

MARCO VERRATTI PERFORMANCE - SETTLED AT 155

One of the key men in Italy's midfield, the PSG man had a fantastic match and controlled a lot of the possession for his team, as well as dropping between defenders at times to build up the play from deep. The dynamic midfielder ended up with a Performance makeup of a sizeable 155. For punters who bought at the pre-match spread of 83-88, a tasty 67x their opening wager would have been made.

LEONARDO BONUCCI PGM - SETTLED AT 67

One of the key veteran stalwarts in the Italian defence, Juventus centre-back Bonucci was expected to make his most significant contributions alongside longtime partner Giorgio Chiellini at the back. However, Bonucci is known for being both a talismanic leader, and a defender with a penchant for an important bit of quality like a pass or goal, and he delivered for his side again here. With a pre-match PGM spread of 1-3, punters who bought would have been left with 66x their opening wager. And, not only scoring the equaliser in normal time, the Juve man also dispatched a penalty when the pressure was on his side having been behind in the shootout!

1ST ENGLAND GOAL - SETTLED AT 2

In scenes that caused pandemonium inside Wembley Stadium, there was plenty of belief that football was indeed 'coming home' when Luke Shaw marauded forward and finished an excellent half-volley from Kieran Trippier's cross in just the 2nd minute. The quickfire start was certainly not to be expected, with most experts envisaging a tight and cagey opening to the match. With a pre-match 1st England Goal spread of 57-60, punters who predicted a fast start and sold would have been left with 55x their opening stake.

ITALY TO WIN ON PENALTIES (BINARY) - SETTLED AT 100

Ultimately, it was the cruelest way to lose a match, but perhaps also the most glorious for the winners. Italy became the first time to ever win 2 penalty shootouts in a single EURO tournament campaign, and with it produced a market settlement of 100. From a pre-match spread of 5.8-12.5, punters who predicted this outcome would have made 87.5x their opening wager!

GIORGIO CHIELLINI CM - SETTLED AT 90

A player no stranger to bookings, Giorgio Chiellini capped off a gladiatorial performance with a wily tactical foul on Bukayo Saka in the dying moments, thus settling the Chiellini Card Mins market at 90. Those who predicted a late foul by the Juve man and bought at his pre-match spread of 11-15 would have made 75x their opening stake!
