HOW MUCH COULD I WIN FROM MY TOTAL GOALS SPREAD BET?

Say Spreadex is offering an England v San Marino Total Goals spread of 7.2-7.5.

If you think there will be more than 7 goals you would buy at 7.5. If you think there will be 7 goals or fewer, you would sell at 7.2.

The game then finishes 10-0 to England. If you bought £10 at 7.5, you would win £25 ((10 - 7.5) x £10). If you sold £10 at 7.2, you you lose £28 ((7.2 - 10) x £10).

If the match finished 9-0 to England, and you bought £10 at 7.5, you would win £15 ((9 - 7.5) x £10). If you sold £10 at 7.2, you would lose £18 ((7.2 - 9) x £10).

If the game ended up 8-0 to England, and you bought £10 at 7.5, you would win £5 ((8 - 7.5) x £10). If you you sold £10 at 7.2, you would lose £8 ((7.2 - 8) x £10).

If the game finished 7-0 to England, and you bought £10 at 7.5, you would lose £5 ((7 - 7.5) x £10). If you sold £10 at 7.2, however, you would win £2 ((7.2 - 7) x £10).

What about if the game isn't anywhere near as prolific as that? If England won 3-0, and you bought £10 at 7.5, you would lose £45 ((3 - 7.4) x £10). However, if you sold at £10 at 7.2, you would win £42 ((7.2 - 3) x £10).

If England came away with a 2-0 victory, and you bought £10 at 7.5, you would lose £55 ((2 - 7.5) x £10). But if you sold £10 at 7.2, you would win £52 ((7.2 - 2) x £10).

And if England eked out a 1-0 win? Buying £10 at 7.5 would lose you £65 ((1 - 7.5) x £10). Selling £10 at 7.2, on the other hand, would win you £62 ((7.2 - 1) x £10).

What about a goalless draw? If you bought £10 at 7.5, you would lose £75 ((0 - 7.5) x £10). If you sold £10 at 7.2, you would win £72 ((7.2 - 0) x £10).
